Ronald Edwin Ross
January 31, 1947 – June 20, 2026

Born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, he spent his early years in Tuscumbia and Michigan. His teenage years were spent in Columbia, Tennessee, and Southern California. Before the military draft required his service, he enlisted in the United States Air Force at 19 years old.

After he completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, his first assigned base was Castle Air Force Base in Merced, California. It was there that he met Glenda Young. They were married at Hilmar Covenant Church on September 17, 1967.

He earned his GED through the Air Force and developed many valuable skills during his 20 years of service. Starting in Flightline Freight, to Flightline Heat & Air, to Mobile Radar, and Air Ground Equipment, he was stationed stateside while raising his family, with assignments to Vietnam. He served on the Presidential Airborne Command Squadron accompanying Jimmy Carter. He also served assignments to Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm and Germany at the Czech border.

After retiring from military service, the family settled in Turlock, where he worked for several processing companies. He later retired and enjoyed trips back to Tennessee and Alabama, visiting the Hawaiian Islands, and, most of all, spending time with his family and their growing families.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Emmajean and James Boatwright of Alabama, and his father and stepmother, Harold and Colleen Ross of Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Ross of Turlock, his son, Shannon (Christine) Ross of Turlock and daughter Ronnette (Sharen) Smithcamp of Santa Cruz; five grandchildren: Tricia (Cliff) Amick of Riverbank, Austin (Marisa) Chandler of Billings, Montana, Anthony (Erica) Ross of College Station, Texas, Adrianna (John) Crofoot of Roseville, and Aidan (Stephanie) Chandler of Turlock; and six great-grandchildren: Hayden Hayward, Anthony Ross Jr., Chloe Ross, Kaydence Ross, Cameron Crofoot, and Sophia Chandler.

Those wishing to attend the military honors service are invited to gather on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California.

A Celebration of Life will be held later that afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at The Grand Oak, 1450 N. Soderquist Rd, Turlock, California, where family, friends, and acquaintances are welcome to gather to honor and remember his life.

Robert William Walker, 87 of Turlock, passed away on June 18, 2026 at his home.

He was born in Parris, California on January 12, 1939, to Robert and Edna (Glenn) Walker. He was married to Denise Mc Anany and had four children. He was the Stanislaus County Fair Manager for 20 years and 50 years Hall of Famer for the Western Fairs Association (WFA). He was an avid golfer and a devoted Irishman.
Robert was a member of Rotary, Kiwanis and Knights of Columbus.

Robert is survived by his children, Rebecca Martin of Turlock, Patrick Walker of La Quinta, Ca, Scott Walker of Laguna Nigel, Ca, and Laura Moore of Turlock, Ca. He also leaves behind his brother, James Walker of Idaho, Six grandchildren and Five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Edward Walker and Ronald Walker.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 27 at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, 900 N. Broadway in Turlock., at Building E-3.

Anita Jean Kirkpatrick
August 18, 1941 – June 21, 2026

Anita Jean Kirkpatrick, age 84, passed away at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, CA on June 21, 2026. Anita was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 18, 1941. Due to her father Eckle Ashworth’s deployment during WW2, she and her mother Bernice Klamka Ashworth moved to TN to live with her paternal grandmother.

After the war was over the family moved to CA. Anita met the love of her life Tom on a double date arranged by her best friend Linda. Tom and Anita were married on September 17, 1960, and would have been married 66 years this year. Anita gave birth to their 3 girls Donna Lynn (deceased), Kimberly Catherine, and Stephany Gwen. The family moved to Denair in 1975 so they could have more room for Anita’s horse Fancy.

Dorothy Ann Trimm

September 28, 1932 ~ June 7, 2026

Dorothy entered the gates of heaven on June 7th, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born in Butterfield, Missouri coming from a family of 10. She married her first husband, John Gwin and they were married for 20 years until his passing. She later remarried to Al Trimm in 1973, until his passing in 2025.

Dorothy loved to travel by RV with her husband, Al. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. She was renowned for her delicious walnut, pecan, and lemon pies. She also loved to make jam, jelly and preserves. Her best moments were those spent with family and grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Linda Thorn, son Dwane Gwin (Maria), daughter-in-law Catherine Trimm, granddaughters Amy Pulido (Felipe) and Jenae Petersen (Chris), grandsons Derek Thorn (Camryn), Jeremy Trimm (Michaela), and Corey Gwin (Allison), 10 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her son-in-laws, Gary Thorn and Jerry Trimm.

A Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Thursday June 25, 2026 at 10am.

Albert Hinkle, 87, of Ceres, California, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2026.

Albert was born on September 12, 1938, in Turlock, California. He was the son of the late Albert A Hinkle and Dorothy (Smith) Hinkle. He was enlisted in the US Navy, serving on the USS Ae**us and worked for the City of Modesto for 37 years.

Albert was an avid mechanic and tractor enthusiast. If it was broke, he could fix it!

Albert was a devoted father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather whose quiet strength and steady faith shaped the lives of everyone who loved him. He was a man who believed in hard work, self‑reliance, and doing things the right way. His lessons — from work ethics to fixing things with your own two hands — will continue to guide his family for generations.

Albert was a true man of God, he enjoyed going to church and teaching Sunday school. He lived his faith through kindness, humility, and the way he cared for others.

Albert is survived by his four children, Ruth Vinson (Mike) of Big Fork, Montana; Tony (Ellen) Hinkle of Mt. Ulla, North Carolina; Angela (Rich) Fontana of Ceres, California; Andrew (Judi) Hinkle of Ceres, California; his grandchildren Michael, Anita, Morgan, Wyatt, Schylar, Madison; and great‑grandchildren Mia, Bella, Zachariah, Bethannie, and Weslee all of whom carry a piece of his legacy in their hearts.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife Arlene Hinkle, and sister Doris Mourer.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Waterford, CA on June 20th at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church hall.
