On Saturday, Ed Wilke of Northeastern Wisconsin Bird Alliance joined Brian Hendrickson, board member of VDBA, on a wonderful site tour to spot migratory and resident birds.
The group spotted 26 species of birds including several migratory warblers. They were able to wrap up the tour with a presentation from Barnwood Coffee Company, here for one of its Coffee for the Bird Saturdays, to learn all about makes coffee bird-safe.
"I felt the event went amazing and was a lot of fun and educational for all! Edwin was an excellent host and very knowledgeable on Fall Warblers, bird natural history, and their environmental connections." โ Brian Henrickson, board member

Thanks Randy and Kulpa's Tree Service! On Thursday we got the trellis installed on the top part of the Ivy Wall so the grape vine can grow all the way up. Looks great!

Thanks to this crew from the Two Rivers High School football team for their help adding edging to a few final gardens in need! They also removed a fence that had been protecting bird-friendly plants from deer as they established ... but the plants are healthy and the space is beautiful and beneficial!

Our volunteers sure had a fun time on this artsy project to bring a little extra color to our grounds! Head out to the trails to see if you can find them!
As the Arboretum continues to grow, we are excited to share opportunities for supporters to leave a permanent and meaningful legacy on the grounds through sponsoring a paver in our Council Circle. A memorial paver offers the opportunity to permanently become part of our shared story while helping preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the grounds.
The Council Circle is a unique installation offering a view across the grounds with seating around an intimate propane fire pit. The area has existing pavers available for sponsorship.
Commemorative pavers create a lasting tribute that honors loved ones, celebrates family traditions, recognizes meaningful milestones, or simply reflects a personal connection to this special place. These engraved pavers will help support the continued development, restoration, and stewardship of the Arboretum for future generations.
Council Circle paver sponsorships are due by August 31, 2026, with engraving occurring in September 2026. Those who sponsor a paver will also receive an invite to a bonfire night in the Council Circle to celebrate your contribution; multiple dates may be offered depending on the number ordered, as limited seating is available.
