📚 So… I went back to school!

After years of working with people through massage and seeing just how connected our physical and emotional well-being really are, I decided it was time for me to take the next step.

I’m officially back in school for Social Work, but I want to explain what that actually means and where I’m headed.

My long-term goal is to earn my Master’s degree and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which means becoming a mental health therapist. Eventually, I want to have my own practice where I can help people work through things like trauma, childhood experiences, abusive relationships, stress, and finding their way back to themselves.

And no, Rebel Massage isn’t going anywhere. 🖤

Actually, massage is a huge part of what led me here.

There is such a huge connection between what we experience in life and how our bodies respond to it. Stress, trauma, emotions, relationships, and even the things we push down or don’t fully recognize can show up physically in ways we may not understand.

After years of massage, I’ve had so many people say, “I didn’t even know that hurt until you touched it.”

And that has always stuck with me.

How much are we carrying around that we’ve simply gotten used to?

I want to understand the "WHY" behind that so much more.

I want to help people become more aware of what their minds and bodies are telling them, recognize when something doesn’t feel right, and feel more confident advocating for what they need. Ultimately, I want to help people understand themselves better, trust themselves more, and have a stronger voice in their own well-being.

That connection between the mind, body, and everything we experience in between is a huge part of why I’m going back to school.

In the meantime, I’m still here. Still doing massage. Still running Rebel. Still raising my boys.

And now apparently doing college homework too. 😅

Going back to school while raising a family and running a small business is a pretty big leap. The truth is, keeping Rebel busy is what allows me to keep doing this.
