Back to school can be difficult for parents and children. Creating consistent family routines helps smooth the transition. This may look like specific times for dinner, bedtime, or waking up. Realistically, you may not be able to keep set times every day, but trying to keep consistent will benefit all members of the family.

Restore is partnering with Southside Baptist Church in Palestine to host the Restoring Roots Parenting Conference September 26th from 12:30 PM- 3:30PM! The conference will equip and educate parents on topics such as big emotions,technology, understanding needs behind childrens’ behavior. Whether you have young children or teens this free conference is for you!

Restore Family Counseling will be hosting an exciting two-day couples workshop hosted by Kacy Combest, LPC. The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work Workshop is a virtual marriage workshop based on the internationally acclaimed research of Dr. John Gottman as presented in his New York Times bestselling book—The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. This educational workshop has been offered across the US and internationally, and has strengthened the relationships of tens of thousands of couples. It’s specifically designed to help couples improve their friendship and learn powerful communication and conflict management skills.

One of our newer counselors, Joshua Trant, LPC-A is currently accepting new clients! Joshua has a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Kayla Attaway, LPC-S. He has a special interest in helping clients find meaning and value in their lives while learning to confront and overcome common life stressors such as anxiety and depression. Joshua believes all counseling should be person-centered, open, and honest. Joshua has worked with adults, teens, and kids in a variety of settings including schools, behavioral health hospitals, and group homes. As a former middle and high school teacher, he particularly enjoys working
with school-aged children and adolescents along with their parents. Joshua has been married for twenty years and is
blessed with one daughter and one cairn terrier.
