It's unfortunate that we didn't have a much larger crowd after answering the plea to "do something" when the festival had to be canceled.

Hey Upper Sandusky!
We know many of you were disappointed with the cancelation of the festival, as were we. We were not able to pull together enough businesses to establish a full festival due to so many conflicting events in the month of June for vendors.
However, we are not giving up our moment. We would like to invite you all to the Upper Sandusky Pride Family Picnic. We will be at the same location, the shelter house across from the band shell, between the playground and ballfield. We encourage you to bring lawn chairs, any yard game you would like to play, a packed picnic lunch, and your friendliest confidence for meeting and mingling with the community! We will be giving out trinkets and welcome anyone who would like to bring things to exchange/share- but that is not required. There will be no businesses or sales at all for this event. It's simply the community coming together to celebrate, uplift, and partake in our wonderful community.

Come as you are and be a part of what we have started in this small-town community. All love and no hate. We will be on site until the afternoon naturally dissipates, so starting at 11am until whenever.

Here is the reality of 2026 Pride planning.

We began behind the scenes planning in the fall/winter. We went public in February once our date was secured and announced. Since that time, we have had very little tangible support.

We received 4 volunteer sign ups of the 33 positions established. That included zero interest in 2 of our 3 major activity planners, leading to the decision to cut both the kids area entertainment and the talent show.

We received zero submissions for our shirt logo design contest, which put a hold on that process until we secured a print designer.

As of today, we have 1 food truck, 3 selling vendors, and 6 community resources signed up to vendor. Unfortunately, this isn't enough to draw traffic or really call it a festival.

Due to a lack of funding, we were not able to secure more than 2 performers, leaving us with difficult decisions about what to do with the drag show. We considered changing the festival to just a drag show with some vendors on site but we simply don't have enough performers to fill the time and space to make that a worthwhile endeavor.

After 6 months of planning, communicating, and trying to get this off the ground, it looks like it's time to fold. With only 3 weeks remaining and last week we did a major push asking for help with no significant changes, we are calling this- 2026 Upper Pride is Cancelled.

We did secure some amazing sponsors and we want to say THANK YOU to all of our sponsors and vendors who did commit and we are so sorry that it isn't getting off the ground this year.
