Yesterday in our Coming Soon series, we looked at Revelation 17–18 and the fall of Babylon. Babylon represents a way of life that promises we can find what we're looking for apart from God—in wealth, power, pleasure, success and the things we can see and possess.
And for a while, those things can look pretty convincing. But Revelation gives us a sobering reminder: Babylon falls. The things this world tells us will make us secure, satisfied or significant simply won't last.
Revelation 14:12 says “This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.” That's our calling while we wait for Jesus.
Go Deeper This Week
Read Revelation 18:1–8 and Revelation 14:12, and ask yourself:
What am I tempted to look to for satisfaction or security instead of God?
Where have I become comfortable with values or priorities that look more like the world around me than Jesus?
Is there anything God has been warning me about that I've been ignoring?
What would simple faithfulness to Jesus look like for me this week?
Then pray:
Jesus, show me where I've built my life around things that won't last. Give me courage to resist what pulls my heart away from You. Help me hear Your voice, obey Your Word, and remain faithful—even when Your way is different from the world around me. My allegiance belongs to You. Amen.
Church, Babylon won't last. Jesus will. So don't settle for what is temporary. Stand firm. Remain faithful.

Join us this Sunday at 10am as we continue our series on the book of Revelation called "Coming Soon."
Week 4 — Don’t Settle for Babylon Revelation 17–18
Babylon looked powerful, beautiful, wealthy and secure but Revelation announces that it will fall. Babylon represents the systems and desires of this world that promise to satisfy us apart from God.
So the question isn't simply, “Who is Babylon?” The more important question is: Am I building my life around things that won't last? Jesus calls His people to a different way to resist conformity, remain faithful, and live ready for His return. Revelation describes it as “patient endurance” from people who remain faithful to Jesus.
Babylon will fall. Jesus is coming. So don't settle for what won't last—stand firm and remain faithful to what will.
Excited for this 30 minutes of prayer!

Yesterday we continued our Coming Soon series through Revelation with Hold On, looking at Revelation 6–16.
These chapters contain some of Revelation’s most intense imagery, but underneath it all is a message God's people have needed in every generation: Hold on.
In Revelation 6, those who had remained faithful to Jesus cry out:“How long, Sovereign Lord?” Revelation 6:10
Maybe you know that prayer for your own life. Have you asked, how long will I have to carry this? Revelation reminds us that asking “How long?” isn't a failure of faith.
Faith can ask “How long?” and still call Him “Lord.” and while Revelation doesn't give us a date or tell us exactly how long, it does give us a promise: Not forever.
Evil does not get the last word. Suffering does not get the last word. God has not forgotten His people, and the Lamb is still worthy of our trust. So while we're living in the middle of the story, our calling is simple:
Hold on. Remain faithful. Keep following the Lamb.
*Go Deeper This Week*
Read Revelation 6:9–11, Revelation 7:9–17, and Revelation 12:10–11 and consider:
Where am I currently asking God, “How long?”
What would it look like to trust God while I wait?
Is anything competing with Jesus for my allegiance right now?
Where is God asking me to remain faithful instead of giving up?
Then pray:
Jesus, help me hold on when I don't understand what You're doing. Remind me that You have not forgotten me. Give me courage to remain faithful, to follow You wherever You lead, and to trust that evil will not have the final word. My life belongs to You. Amen.
Church, whatever this week holds:
The throne is still occupied.
The Lamb is still worthy.
So hold on.
