El Progreso Memorial Library has raised more than $6.1 million for its planned expansion and renovation, surpassing the project’s estimated $5.9 million construction cost and securing the money needed to move the project forward.

A big thank you to our special speakers today at El Progreso Club. Our theme this year is “Taking Care of Business”, so we invited Kim Fulton-Huffstutler, Jenn Ashley (Broadway 830 GM), and Ann Marie Espinosa to speak about SkyWay Entertainment. Besides their many aviation businesses, the Huffstutlers operate local commercial ventures under SkyWay Entertainment, contributing to downtown revitalization projects and local dining options like The Local Fix, Broadway 830, Smoothie King, and Hangar 6 restaurants in Uvalde. It was a privilege to get to hear about running the restaurant business, working on customer service, and yet still finding time for God, family, self-care, and community service. We were so grateful to have them speak!

Next meeting will be November 12 at noon. Location to be determined. Let us know if you would like to be a speaker too about your business.

A great club May meeting at Virginia Davis‘s home in Montell. The weather was perfect, the breeze cool, the homemade enchiladas delicious, and the company outstanding!
