At WIHD, everything we do is guided by our vision of a future in which all people, including people with disabilities and vulnerable children, live healthy and productive lives as full members of society. As one of 68 University Centers of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities and vulnerable children through professional education, direct service provision, and innovative research. First established in 1950, WIHD moved to Westchester County in 1972 and has been a key regional resource providing a wide range of medical, dental, clinical and social services to individuals with disabilities, vulnerable children, families and professionals.

September was a special month of celebration and connection at WIHD! 💙
On September 15, we welcomed friends, supporters, community partners, Board members, and staff to Cedarwood Hall to celebrate our WIHD community and look ahead to the exciting next chapter at 80 Grasslands Road.
Then, on September 23, WIHD’s Executive Team invited staff and Board members to gather at Tramonto Restaurant to celebrate Dr. Susan Fox’s retirement and recognize her many years of dedicated leadership and service to WIHD.
We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for these special moments, and especially to Susan for the lasting impact she has made on WIHD and the community we serve.
Here’s to celebrating where we’ve been, and all that lies ahead! 💙
