In a Waldorf classroom, we believe that the environment speaks to the child. When a space is cared for with intention, warmth, and beauty, children feel that they are entering a place where they belong.

Bread Day is always a favorite in our Little Pond Program .

There is something magical about the simple rhythm of grinding wheat into flour, kneading dough with busy little hands, and waiting for the warm scent of fresh bread to fill the room.

After kneading, the children shape their dough into “snakes,” “snails,” spirals, and all kinds of imaginative creations.

Nothing compares to sharing homemade bread fresh from the oven, especially enjoyed with freshly churned butter and almond butter. Moments like these nourish not only the body, but also the senses, imagination, and community.

Little Pond is a Waldorf-inspired early childhood program for ages 2.5-5 in Venice, CA. Nature, rhythm, play-based learning, and a natural bilingual environment.
