September marks 'Bear Aware Month' in Montana Both Defenders of Wildlife and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks tell MTN that a lackluster berry crop this year has led to bears feeding at home sites with fruit trees

📌Labor Day Service Reminder!

🐻 September is Bear Aware Month.🍂
As bears prepare for winter, they become increasingly focused on finding food. When attractants are left accessible around homes and neighborhoods, bears can quickly learn to associate people and residential areas with an easy meal. Wildlife experts encourage residents to reduce attractants and secure potential food sources to help prevent conflicts.
🐾Creating a bear-safe property helps protect families, pets, neighborhoods, and wildlife. A few preventative measures can go a long way toward reducing bear encounters, minimizing property damage, and keeping bears from becoming food-conditioned.
🐻Working together, we can help keep our communities safe and Montana's bears wild. 💕
