I keep having to push away the intrusive thought that half of my life is over. Once I get past that, I really think 40s are gonna be fantastic.

I highly recommend inviting the most important people from all the phases of your life for a weekend getaway to celebrate your birthday. Bonus points if you have a theme. My jaw was sore from smiling and laughing the day after our Lake Charles adventure.

My life was flipped upside down and started over in my 30s. Going into this year, I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been. I have built this business from nothing and now we are booked and busy and I’m able to give jobs to people and that is something that I will always be unapologetically proud of.

I’ve put a lot of thought into what I want to focus on and where I want to go. Hadley and Beau are at the absolute best ages. Many of you know I do not generally enjoy children, but they are little independent people now with big personalities. Like every parent, I just want to teach them to be really good and kind people who shoot for the moon and don’t take any s**t. The extracurriculars are probably my favorite thing even when we are ran totally ragged and eating dinner at 9 PM.

My relationship. My Evan. I knew we would end up together on our first date and now I know we will always be together. Don’t stay in an unhappy relationship. Truly. There is someone out there who will fulfill you and cheer for you and love you exactly how you want to be loved. Evan is traveling a lot for work now and we are all soaking it up. We have so many places to go and things to see 💁🏻‍♀️

I’ve had the same best friends for over 20 years (and lots of newer good ones too) which is something I’m really proud of. I’m surrounded by people who I value and admire and a big goal of mine is to pour myself into them because they have been there for me through really dark periods. The days of having babies and little kids are over. I want girls nights and book clubs and weekend getaways but I will settle for occasional lunches and dinners.

Also, I will use this platform to say stop using AI to send personal texts and emails. Say it with your chest. I am a mega AI girlie when it comes to work , life management, cataloguing, time blocking, etc.. but when I get a text that is clearly copied and pasted from ChatGPT, it makes my head spin. Try to remain a human being with thoughts for as long as you can & always say what you want to say. Give the compliment. Ask the question. We are halfway to death, guys. This isn’t the time to hold back.

This year after I did a business cohort I decided that something I am missing is investing in education and training for my employees and that’s gonna continue. We have our first work retreat coming up in a few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited. I want to build a team who share my values and mission. I want to replicate exactly what I’m doing in Victoria in Corpus and Rockport consistently. And when I say I want to, that means I will. When you own a small business, you quickly get over the fear of failure.

I hope this post pops up in my memories when I’m 50 and I die of secondhand embarrassment and think wow I was so young and dumb 😂 kind of like I do when I see literally anything I posted between the age of 18 and 28.
