Breeder of Sport Horses and Ponies Thank you for your interest in Maefield Farm. We are a sport horse breeding farm located 45 mi. southwest of Saint Louis MO.
Mares from top warmblood pedigrees are the foundation of our breeding program. We select stallions with proven performance and offspring that complement each mare’s conformation, character, and athletic ability. We also breed hunter ponies based on the Caspian Horse, a rare and athletic breed with an ancient history. We take pride in the high level of care given to our mares and young stock, including the gradual starting methods and consistent handling of youngsters to produce calm and willing performance horses and ponies. Our goal is to provide top quality mounts with the mind and athletic ability to achieve your dreams. Veterinarians Mary and Tom Ellenberger have been breeding horses and ponies since 2008. They are involved in all aspects of the care and upbringing of Maefield’s horses and ponies, in partnership with a team of professional horse trainers and equine veterinarians. Our beautiful filly Wisterious M placed in the Top Ten jumper foals of the 2026 KWPN - NA keuring tour. She is out of our lovely mare Katniss SPF (Van Gogh - Orame - Nimmerdor) and by Iceman de Muze. This is Katniss' second Top Ten foal. Kat is in foal to Arezzo VDL for 2027.

It's wonderful to see Maefield babies growing up and entering their careers. Divinely Dupre M (Dubarry - Hanoverian Stallion - Depardieu - Wolkenstein II) was high point Hanoverian at the recent Centerline Dressage Classic in Illinois. A judge told his owner Caroline A. Morgan that "Vinny" has FEI potential. And we have Vinny's 2025 full sister, Divanarry M, available. "Diva" is a tall, elegant, and composed filly who is ready to follow her big brother's trajectory.

First outing for our Iceman de Muze filly. Her sire brings a double dose of Darco into the mix. The pedigree of dam Katniss SPF (Van Gogh - Numero Uno) includes the iconic sires Nimmerdor, Indoctro, Berstein, and Libero. This freckled filly is born to jump.

Just unwrapped my birthday present and it fits perfectly. A filly by Iceman de Muze out of our Van Gogh mare, Katniss SPF.

Look who showed up in our barn last night! Mare Dulcinea GKF (Depardieu-Wolkenstein II) certainly stamped her Denmark HTF filly.
