In both the City of San Diego and Unincorporated San Diego, ADUs can now be sold separately from the primary residence under AB 1033—but only if specific local requirements are met. This is one of the biggest changes to California housing in years and could create new opportunities for homeowners, builders, investors, and first-time buyers.
