Normalize accountability. Normalize holding the President to a higher standard. We will not normalize the sitting President calling for attacks on American cities.

You don’t have to agree with the people who live in a city. You don’t have to like its politics, its mayor, its policies, or anything else about it. But cheering for the destruction of a city and the deaths of the people who live there is something else entirely.

Los Angeles and San Diego are home to roughly 5.2 million people combined. They aren’t abstract political talking points. They’re families. Kids. Parents. Neighbors. People going to work, taking their kids to school, paying their bills, making dinner, and trying to get through their lives.

There is nothing “tough” or patriotic about treating millions of American lives as an acceptable price to pay. And please don’t come back at me with “he’s joking.” He’s not. when a president talks about millions of Americans as a “small price to pay,” the appropriate response isn’t to laugh it off because you happen to like the person saying it. Those are American cities filled with American people.

I don’t think we should need a political party, a state, or a partisan label to recognize that telling an enemy it can destroy American cities is a profoundly disturbing thing for a president to say.

To feel intensely is not a symptom of weakness. It is the trademark of the truly alive and compassionate.

Once you start paying attention, it’s hard to unsee the cracks. In the soul, in our systems, and in the way we treat each other. You see people struggling, the planet gasping, and empathy becoming rare enough to feel rebellious.

Maybe protecting the vulnerable feels political because abandoning them became policy.

May we think of freedom not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.

Your voice may not end every injustice, but your silence will never stop one.

There are far more people working for justice, equality, and diversity than opposing them. DON’T LET HOPELESSNESS TREND IN YOUR HEAD.

This is TODAY.
Christine Wells Wonsley

Jackson County grand jury ruled his death a drowning as a “diagnosis of exclusion” — meaning they found
no other explanation.

The autopsy found no fluid or debris in his airways and no water in his stomach.

The autopsy also found unexplained blunt-force injuries to the back of his head.

Forensics found some Snapchat messages were deleted after Nolan’s disappearance.

None of this is “proof” of how he died. But it does leave legitimate questions, and his family deserves real answers.
