50 YEARS 🤍

This sweet couple celebrated their golden anniversary in the most beautiful way.

They took me around Chilton, Texas, showing me the places from her childhood. It was such an honor to capture not only a little piece of their history, but the spark between them that is still very much alive and well.

Moving around may be a little harder these days, but he stood firm and supportive, just as he has through so many years of their life together.

And the last photo, her favorite, was the kiss. Standing wasn't easy for her, but she leaned in anyway, reaching for this tender moment with her sweetheart.

This session represents everything I hope to have from a long, beautiful marriage -- a love that still reaches for each other after 50 years. 🤍

There have been a lot of doubting voices along the way.

Some came from other people. But if I’m being honest, many came from inside myself.

And some weren’t just doubts about my business or my future -- but whether I would have a future at all.

I know what it feels like to wonder...

If you’re capable of accomplishing your dreams.
If you’ll ever be loved for who you are.
If your life will ever feel meaningful.
If you will ever experience true joy.
If there is a future waiting for you.

I don’t share this because I’ve conquered every battle. Some have left scars, and some require putting on the full armor every day.

But when I look at where I could have ended up and everything I’ve walked through to get here...

It's far better than NOT BAD.

So... if you are in the depths of depression or if the anxiety is getting too loud, my line (and my ears) are always open. I would love to listen to your story and have the opportunity to encourage you.

Because I’ve spent a lot of my life looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Feeling beautiful as a woman, especially as we change with age, rarely happens by accident.

It takes intention. Perhaps by seeing yourself through a different lens, or by giving yourself permission to celebrate the woman you are becoming, not just the woman you used to be.

Being beautiful, on the other hand, is something God-given. It is already inside every single woman. Getting to be the conduit that helps women see that beauty for themselves, that is my honor. 🤍

Because true beauty is found in every facet of who we are. Just like a diamond shimmers differently as it catches the light, sometimes we need to see ourselves from different angles to recognize the beauty that has been there all along.

For my friend Robyn, that meant a little walk around downtown Waxahachie visiting some of her favorite places, and then bringing her story home. Her chickens, cows, dogs, and garden -- those are all the little pieces of life that make her, *HER*.

Because your story was never meant to fit inside a traditional portrait session. It deserves to be seen in full.

More than just a senior session. 💜🎸

The details from this senior session started coming together over 3 years ago in a photo shoot that created album art for Rob's latest releases. He and I worked together to design not only the photo session but also create the actual album artwork.

Fast forward to this year when my senior rep Rylee said she wanted a session at Vintage Mío Records to represent her love for music -- it was the perfect opportunity to create something incredibly special.

I created a 1-of-1 vinyl record cover that turned this senior session into a representation of something far more meaningful. Since Rob's original album artwork didn't have a back, I pulled images from the session 3 years ago and worked with Brittany to create something that I truly hope he would have approved of.

What a joy and honor it is to get to create art for y'all.
