Lovely talk Peabody Essex Museum today with Petra Slinkard on this incredible Artist Residency in the Lye Tapley Ten Footer Shoe Shop and the John Ward House kitchen. I set up early and had a much needed quiet moment embroidering boot tops in the Morse Auditorium.

Great visits to the Peabody Essex Museum museum for John and Henry Superior Shoe and Boot Repair where we talked all things making and repair, especially how hard the hustle is!

Finally got to show Becky Behar how her fabulous photography is gracing the kitchens in the John Ward House

Feeling incredibly lucky to be coming to work in these two critical spaces in our footwear-making history: the kitchen of leather dresser John Ward’s house, where women would have been stitching shoe uppers, and the Lye-Tapley Ten Footer Shoe Shop where men would have been lasting and bottoming shoes

Both historic structures are in the Peabody Essex Museum collection
