🧵 Guess how many buttons fall off fatigues? 🔴🪡

Mrs. Elizabeth Fox taught our students a skill they’ll actually use—how to sew a button! Two-hole, four-hole, step-by-step, and finished product. Now they’re ready when that button falls off! 👏👏👏

SRO Officer Gene Williams joined us for the lesson, but our students also wanted to take a moment to show him how much he is appreciated. Cupcakes may have been involved!

Officer Williams will soon be deployed. While we certainly don’t want to see him go, we are incredibly thankful for the men and women who serve and sacrifice to protect our freedom. 🇺🇸

Thank you, Officer Williams, for showing up, serving with pride, and protecting the freedoms we cherish. Our students are cheering you on, and we’ll be praying for your safe return! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 🇺🇸

🐝🔥 ROUND 2: BRING ON THE COMPETITION! 🔥🐝

The words got HARDER… and the competition got SERIOUS! 😳📚

👮‍♂️🐝 Our SRO joined us as a judge—and proved he can spell, too! 🙌 It’s more than just being on campus; it’s about showing up, getting involved, and building positive relationships with our students.

Who will spell their way to the top? 🏆

As always, thanks to the resident photographer, Mrs. Hope Everett and Mr. Bob Vige' for organizing!

👔 More Than Just Tying a Tie!👨‍💼👨🏽‍💼👨🏾‍💼

For the fourth year, Sgt. Joseph Agna Hebert turned a simple skill into a meaningful workplace lesson. Our students—girls AND guys—practiced tying a tie while learning that productivity is often about being prepared, paying attention to details, and being willing to learn something new.

Because sometimes the little things are the skills that make you feel a little more ready for the big things. 💙⭐️👔⭐️💛

🇺🇸 Constitution Day is September 17th!🇺🇸

Our students had the opportunity to learn about one of the most important foundations of our country—the United States Constitution—through the Judges in the Classroom Project. 👨‍⚖️ 👨🏽‍⚖️👩‍⚖️

Judge Matthew S. Belser with the 21st Judicial District Court gave an engaging, informative, and thought-provoking lesson. Students learned about Lady Liberty🗡️, due process, the Amendments like the right to remain silent🤐, and the origins of Miranda rights👮🏻‍♀️—not just as words in a textbook, but as rights that shape our everyday lives as American citizens.

A special thank you to Judge Brenda Ricks for providing copies of the Constitution 📜 that helped enrich the lesson. ⭐️

These are the things we may not realize we need to know—until we need to know them.

👏 Kudos to our judges for investing in our students and bringing civics 🇺🇸 to life!

🐝📚 Spreading the LOVE of words at LA! 📚🐝

Today we kicked off our very first LA Spelling Bee! 🎉🐝🪄

The idea came from one of our students, and Mr. Bob Vige' and Mrs. Hope Everett ran with it—turning a great student idea into an opportunity to learn, compete, and have a little fun! 💙⭐️💛

Round 1️⃣ challenged our students with 15 words and we are so proud of everyone who stepped up and gave it their best! ⭐️👏⭐

Who will spell their way to the top? 🐝🏆🐝

Stay tuned for Round 2️⃣!

SHOW UP. ✅
STAND OUT. ⭐️

Today, a tiny box of Tic Tacs represents something MUCH bigger—>showing up! 👏

At Livingston Alternative, we believe Perfect Attendance is a life skill. Being dependable, being where you’re supposed to be, and following through are habits that matter long after high school.

We also like to make our rewards a little different! 😎 We choose unique treats students may not typically experience—because trying something new can spark curiosity and conversation. 🌎⭐️🗣️

📚 Last school year, 13.3% of Livingston Parish students were chronically absent which is 8.66 better than the state’s rate! Livingston Alternative had a 93.86% Attendance Rate and we want to be even BETTER this year!

So when our students earn PERFECT ATTENDANCE, we’re going to make a BIG deal about it! 🎉

A tiny treat. 🧊
A BIG lesson. 💙⭐️💛

Show up. Be dependable. Build the habit. Own your success.

We’ve also began harvesting permissions from our tree and let the students try those out! Treats all around!

⭐ Self-discipline makes success! ⭐
