From October 13–17, Bonnie Bishoff is holding a once-in-a-lifetime retreat with us at Metals on the Mountain! Spend five days with Bonnie getting hands-on practice with her signature tricks and techniques to combining polymer clay and metal to create unique jewelry in “Endless Pattern and Color and Metal Sandwiches: Integrating Polymer Clay with Metals.”

Presented by a joint team of Metalwerx and FSG, Metals on the Mountain takes place at Wildacres Retreat, a non-profit retreat and North Carolina conference center that serves other nonprofit groups prioritizing community over profit.

Michael Good is taking over Metalwerx on September 9–13 for the final master class of our Summer With the Masters 2026 series with his class “Anticlastic Forming.” During this master class, Michael will lead students through a series of exercises designed to teach the principles of anticlastic raising–moving metal from flat sheet into complex curved forms. Michael’s goal is for students to gain enough of an understanding of the technique to be able to return to their own studios to practice this advanced skill at their leisure!

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Michael Good is a designer, sculptor, and jeweler whose side interests include physics, philosophy, archeology, and kayaking. Primarily self-taught, Michael is known around the world as the master of Anticlastic Raising. He has been exploring metal forming for over 25 years and has given workshops for professional organizations, universities, and schools in North America and Europe. His work is represented in stores, galleries, museums, and private collections around the world.
