It was my great honor to join the Chicago SOAR Chapter today to honor the lives of the 10 workers killed on May 30, 1937 during the Memorial Day Massacre when 1,500 steelworkers and their families protested Republic Steel to demand the right to collectively bargain for dignity, fairness and safety on the job. They fought corporate greed then, and working people continue to fight it today. History is a great teacher. May we never forget.
