I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately.

As September comes to a close, I’ve found myself reflecting on this journey — what I’ve learned, what I’m building, and where I want to take Rug Genie next.

Entrepreneurship is interesting because there’s always something to figure out. You’re creating, testing, learning what works, changing what doesn’t, celebrating the wins, and then getting right back to work.

And for me, all of that happens while working a full-time career at a Fortune 500 company, maintaining a life outside of work, and still finding the time and energy to build something that started as an idea in my own head.

Some days I’m the inventor. Some days I’m the marketer, content creator, customer service department, packer, strategist — and sometimes I’m just the woman sitting there thinking, “Okay… what’s the next move?” 😂

But that’s the part of this journey I’m learning to appreciate.

Rug Genie isn’t just a product I’m selling. It’s something I created, invested in, believed in, and continue to build one decision, one customer, one lesson, and one win at a time.

Someone may be able to recreate an idea.

But they can’t recreate the person, the story, the persistence, or the vision behind it.

So as September closes, I’m not measuring this journey by one day, one week, or one month.

I’m looking at how far I’ve come — and I’m excited about where I’m going next.

One day, this logo will mean something to millions. 🤎

When I look at the Rug Genie logo, I don’t just see a business. I see a vision of homes all over the world with Rug Genie protecting their rugs — helping keep rug edges flat, beautiful, and safer for the people who walk across them every day.

It hasn’t been that long since I officially launched Rug Genie, but these first several months have given me so much to be grateful for. Every order, every review, every share, and every yperson who has trusted my invention enough to bring it into their home has reminded me that big things really do start small.

Rug Genie was created to solve a simple household problem, but the mission has grown beyond appearance. It’s about helping protect rug edges from curling, pets and vacuum damage while also helping create a cleaner, safer walking surface in the home.

Today, maybe only a few thousand people recognize this logo.

One day, I believe millions will. ✨

And when they do, I hope Rug Genie represents something simple: a smarter way to protect the rugs you love and the people who walk on them.

We’re still at the beginning. And I’m incredibly excited to see where this little genie goes. 🧞‍♀️🤎

A setback doesn’t get to decide how the story ends. 🤎

Lately, life and business have been reminding me of that in more ways than one.

There have been losses. There have been disappointments. There have been moments when things didn’t go according to plan. I’ve had to learn, adjust, regroup, and keep moving—even when I didn’t necessarily feel like it.

And yes… I even discovered that my website wasn’t working properly. 😩 Imagine working hard to send people to your business only to find out they couldn’t complete the purchase! But it’s fixed now, and instead of letting that discourage me, I’m choosing to see it for what it was: a setback, not the ending.

So this Monday, I’m resetting.

Good music. Good energy. Better habits. A clearer mind. More intention. More gratitude. More faith in what I’m building. And more attention to the people I keep in my corner—because having people around you who encourage you, motivate you, and remind you of who you are matters.

I’m still manifesting.
I’m still building.
I’m still learning.
And most importantly, I’m still going.
