AI-driven skills analysis is changing the equation. Organizations can identify employees whose demonstrated capabilities already align closely with the requirements of a role, estimate the training needed to close remaining gaps, and accelerate development plans with far greater confidence. However, AI should support—not replace—human judgment. Even with AI analysis, these decisions still depend on complex human factors, including company policies around ethical use of AI.
