Giving locally is a way to show up for our neighbors and communities through active participation.
The Everyday Giving Pledge is a commitment to increase your charitable giving this year and direct at least 50% of it to local nonprofits. Those who take the pledge will also receive resources about the new charitable tax deduction and how to make the most of giving locally.
Give more and give local. Take the pledge at EverdayGivingPledge.org

Giving locally can begin with one question: What place or issue do you care about?
From there, explore organizations doing work in your community. Spend a little time learning about one that catches your attention, then take a step that fits your life.
That could mean making a gift, volunteering, attending an event, or introducing someone else to their work.

Sometimes, the most helpful way to give is to let a nonprofit decide where that gift can do the most good.
Unrestricted funding gives organizations the flexibility to respond when needs change, address gaps that designated funding may not cover, and invest in the people and systems that sustain their work.
It’s not only a funding choice, but also an expression of trust in the people who understand the work and their communities best.

Democracy is lived out through voting, listening, organizing, volunteering, and investing in our communities.
We see this engagement every day: in the community advocates who help select our nonprofit partners, the organizations responding to local needs, and the neighbors who contribute their time, voices, and resources.
At Spur Local, we recognize everyone taking an active role in building a more connected region.
