🟢 The Screaming Green Machine: Shinya Nakano's 2006 Kawasaki ZX-RR Prototype.
The 2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR stands as a pinnacle of racing development from the final year of MotoGP's 990cc prototype era. Built from the ground up to support Japanese star Shinya Nakano, this specialized machine weaponized an ultra-compact, liquid-cooled, 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine. To fix rear-tire traction limits on corner exits, engineers integrated an uneven firing order, pumping out an aggressive 240+ horsepower.
Designed for extreme RPM performance, the powertrain was nestled inside a highly rigid, machined aluminum perimeter frame. It paired a premium Öhlins suspension suite with specialized Bridgestone tires, delivering surgical lateral rigidity. Complete with an advanced slipper clutch and Keihin electronic fuel injection, Nakano famously engineered this lime-green ballistic missile to achieve a historic second-place podium at the Dutch TT.
