The Makerspace —a 20,000-square-foot facility dedicated to transforming education for students in Washington, DC—recently brought us on to design their donor wall.
Designed to capture the space's energy and creativity, and inspired by foundational building blocks, the wall features dimensional shapes to highlight each donor tier. Dimensional lettering, mixed materials, and tool doodles nod to the space’s hands-on qualities. Colorful phrases were also fitted on I-beams adjacent to the wall, thanking donors and welcoming students from all angles.

After a whirlwind summer, our DC crew finally reunited to celebrate Shannon and Ambica’s summer birthdays!
We marked the occasion with a delicious lunch, plenty of yummy pastries, and a visit to a new public art exhibit raising awareness of conservation efforts through interactive sculptures of endangered animals.
It was energizing to be back together, catch up, celebrate, and get inspired, leaving us fully recharged for an afternoon of client calls and deadlines!

Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce recently published a report examining “springboard” middle-skills occupations, which are jobs accessible with an associate’s degree or certificate and can lead to high earnings and wage growth. “Springboard to Opportunity” reports credential shortages across the country and explores opportunities to connect students to education pathways and credentials, and to connect employees to meet demand.
We supported the report content with custom data visualizations and conceptual illustrations, including a dynamic cover depicting a student sprinting down a runway and vaulting toward coins representing the opportunities these careers can offer.
Inside, we drew inspiration from the technical reports and blueprints associated with many of the featured fields, using bold color accents and section dividers to bring energy and structure to the data.

Earlier this week, Shannon, Ambica, and Kristina attended the launch of the Capital Area Food Bank’s 2026 Hunger Report. The event brought together community leaders and advocates for a presentation of the report’s key findings, moving stories from CAFB clients, and a cross-sector panel discussion, all underscoring the deepening impact of food insecurity across our region.
The report’s findings are sobering: food insecurity in the DMV has reached a five-year high, and for the first time in the report’s history, fewer than half of DMV residents consider themselves highly food secure.
But the conversation also offered hope. Hearing leaders across sectors share solutions and emphasize that rising food insecurity is not inevitable was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when our community comes together. We left inspired by CAFB’s continued leadership and the collective commitment to building a more food-secure future for all.
Eighty2degrees was proud to design this year’s Hunger Report and several event materials, including posters, a program, and infographics. Building on the visual language our team established for the report, these pieces extended the brand into the event space and helped create a cohesive experience from report to launch.

All aboard! Capital Area Food Bank’s new Mobile Meals Bus is bringing free, healthy meals directly to kids across the DMV. Before it hit the road, the bus needed an exterior that made it feel like an exciting, welcoming space for kids while doubling as a mobile billboard for CAFB’s work throughout the region.
Building on the bright, playful visual language we created for CAFB’s Afterschool and Summer Meals programs, we transformed the bus into a rolling celebration of food, packed with colorful illustrations designed to catch kids’ eyes and make them excited to hop aboard.

It’s been a busy summer at Eighty2degrees, supporting clients across sectors who are doing good and changing lives.
One highlight: We developed the event branding for Public Justice’s Annual Gala, celebrating the organization’s hard-fought legal victories and the lawyers who make that work possible. This year’s gala also marked the debut of Public Justice’s new overall brand identity, which we created.
Inspired by the theme “Pillars of Justice,” we built the gala’s visual identity around illuminated columns, a symbol of the collective support that upholds an equitable legal system and the people who rise to the occasion to advance justice year after year.
We carried the concept across a full suite of print and digital materials, from invitations and place settings to name tags and event graphics, creating a cohesive experience that inspires and reaffirms the commitment of everyone in the room.
The result? The most successful gala in Public Justice’s history, raising more than any previous year. Congratulations, Public Justice! We’re proud to have played a part in celebrating this incredible work.

As America marked its 250th anniversary over the weekend, we recognize both the promise of our democracy and the urgent work still left ahead. Across the country, we see rights challenged, dissent silenced, and marginalized communities targeted. This reminds us that democracy and basic freedoms have never been guaranteed and that justice is never finished.
The next 250 years of American democracy won’t happen by chance. They will be shaped by the people and organizations working every day to defend civil liberties, protect voting rights, and build a system that works for all of us.
At Eighty2degrees, we’re proud to recognize five organizations leading that work and standing on the front lines of our democracy.

Our collaboration with Public Justice () culminated in a complete redesign of its website.
As a litigation and advocacy organization serving consumers, workers, the environment, and civil rights, Public Justice needed a digital experience that reflected the scale and impact of its work. The existing site was difficult to manage and lacked clear pathways for visitors to learn, engage, and take action.
Working closely with the Public Justice team, we reimagined the site’s architecture, navigation, content strategy, and user experience. Guided by audience needs and brought to life by the new brand identity, the redesigned website makes it easier to access information, understand the organization’s work, and connect with its mission. Built on a flexible, modular WordPress framework, the site also gives staff the tools to manage and evolve content over time.
Over the past weeks, we’ve shared the story of this transformation, from a refreshed logo rooted in justice and progress to a dynamic brand system that amplifies Public Justice’s voice, to a website experience designed to support and extend the organization’s impact.
We’re grateful to have partnered with Public Justice to design a brand and digital presence that reflects the organization’s leadership, ambition, and enduring commitment to advancing social and economic justice.

Last week, we shared the refreshed logo we created for Public Justice (). But a logo is only one piece of a brand.
To bring the new brand to life, we developed a comprehensive visual identity that reflects Public Justice’s bold approach to advancing social and economic justice and opening courthouse doors to everyday people.
The new brand extends across print and digital assets, from social media and event materials to presentations, brochures, fact sheets, and a business system. Dynamic typographic compositions amplify Public Justice’s powerful messages, while geometric patterns inspired by the courthouse symbol create movement, structure, and recognition across a wide range of communications.
We also introduced a richer, more accessible color palette, distinctive photography treatments, and a custom icon library, creating a flexible toolkit that can grow with the organization to support everything from complex litigation topics to community-focused storytelling.
The result is a brand that reflects not only Public Justice’s legal expertise but also its role as a catalyst for change and empowerment within our legal system.
