Residents Understood is a new breed of business: personality driven, residential design solutions tailored to the young-professional’s lifestyle. Based in the Washington Metro area RU is run by two talented young designers who offer a variety of services at affordable rates.

Windows open, warm light filtering in, and the first little signs that summer is beginning to soften around the edges.
We design homes to feel this way—layered, personal, comfortable, and entirely your own. Spaces that don’t just look beautiful, but feel good to live in every day.
Our 2026 calendar is fully booked, and we’re now beginning conversations for 2027 projects. If a more personal, beautifully considered home is part of your plans for next year, we’d love to hear from you.
