Today the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that it plans to update its drug regulations by removing references to animal testing, which will help make it clear that companies don’t have to submit data from animal tests to have their drugs approved 🙌

This update will eventually have substantial implications for millions of animals used in testing. And because the U.S. is the world’s largest pharmaceutical market, what the FDA does has consequences for animals in laboratories all over the world 🐶🐭🐒

But we need to ensure that the FDA implements these updates to its regulations as quickly as possible, so please take action today to push the agency to quickly implement this critical rule!

Last night, the Trump administration took executive action that could lead to increased exposure to lead from am******on and fishing tackle for both wildlife and the public alike. This follows largely party-line passage in the House of the misleadingly named Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act (H.R. 556), which could make it nearly impossible for the federal government to take steps to lessen exposure to lead from am******on and fishing tackle.

Because of years of hunting with lead am******on, this dangerous substance is all over our environment. Birds and other wildlife ingest it, which leads to a slow and agonizing death from lead poisoning. In fact, lead poisoning is the leading cause of death for California condors, threatening them with near extinction.

With this new action from the administration, it's important now more than ever to urge your Senators to ❌REJECT❌ the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act -- the government should be focused on protecting the public and wildlife from lead, not making it harder to prevent exposure to this deadly substance.

A Trump administration memo obtained by The New York Times reveals an unprecedented attack on the Endangered Species Act.

According to the story, the administration is attempting to reinterpret the word “take” in the ESA. Under this new interpretation, the incidental killing or injury of an endangered animal would no longer be considered illegal by the federal government. Instead, only the targeted, intentional killing of an endangered animal would be prohibited.

For more than half a century, the ESA has enjoyed broad public support and helped bring countless species back from the brink. Yet despite this, the administration continues to pursue measures that would hollow out the protections at its very heart.

We cannot let that happen.

The Senate Agriculture Committee advanced its version of the Farm Bill today, without the controversial Save Our Bacon Act in it 🙌

Thanks to your efforts, the Senate Agriculture Committee leadership refused to let special interests poison the Farm Bill with the Save Our Bacon Act, which could overturn the hard-won progress states have made for farmed animals like Prop 12 along with hundreds of other state laws that help keep communities healthy and safe.

But the fight is not over. Since the House passed their version of the Farm Bill WITH the Save Our Bacon Act, there are still opportunities for Big Pork and their allies in Congress to get their way. On Wednesday, the Senate Agriculture Committee will hold a markup on their version of the Senate Farm Bill for a second time. The Save Our Bacon Act is currently not in the Senate but there will likely be attempts to add it – or something similar to overturn state farmed animal welfare laws like .

Overturning Prop 12 will:
