Two final nails in the coffin for ranked choice voting:

1. Two weeks later—and we STILL don’t know the final four.

Alaska voted on August 18. We are now just hours from certification, and we still don’t officially know who will be on the ballot for governor in November.

That’s absurd. Elections shouldn’t take two weeks to tell voters who advanced.

2. Even Democrats don’t trust RCV to do what it promises.

There were only two Democrats in the governor’s race. If ranked choice voting really eliminates the “spoiler effect,” Tom Begich could stay in and let Democratic voters rank their choices.

Instead, he dropped out so Democrats wouldn’t split their vote.

That tells you everything.

RCV promised more choice and less gamesmanship. What we got was more confusion, more delay, and the same political maneuvering.

Enough.

November 3: Vote YES on 2. Repeal ranked choice voting.

As this campaign comes to a close, I’m filled with gratitude.

To everyone who gave your time, talent, and treasure to this effort—thank you. To those who marched in parades, waved signs, made calls, donated, hosted events, shared posts, prayed for our family, or simply offered a word of encouragement along the way: you carried this campaign further than I ever could have on my own.

It has been an incredible honor to travel this state, listen to Alaskans, and fight for the place we all call home.

And that fight doesn’t end with a campaign.

Alaska is worth fighting for. It is worth building. It is worth believing in.

I want my daughters—and every child growing up here—to inherit a state where they don’t have to leave to find opportunity. A state where hard work is rewarded, families can thrive, and the next generation can build their own Alaska dream right here at home.

That mission is bigger than any election, and I’m not done.

Thank you for believing in me, standing beside me, and fighting alongside me.

North to the Future.

Galatians 6:4. “Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.”

Whatever happens, I am grateful for every Alaskan who engaged with this campaign, asked hard questions, and made their voice heard today.

We opened with the anthem and the pledge. The right way to start a night like this.

We have heard from Alaskans all across this state over the last several months. From Nome to Ketchikan, from Fairbanks to the Kenai Peninsula, from the Mat-Su Valley to communities most candidates never visit. Every conversation, every forum, every handshake has led to tonight.

Today is the day!

One ballot. You pick one for governor. The top four advance to November.
