Employee Spotlight: Nick Peyton 💪🏻
Nick is the kind of guy who fits right in from day one. As an equipment operator, he comes ready to work, keeps things moving, and somehow manages to keep the crew laughing while doing it. Locked in, passionate, and always bringing good energy.
Glad to have you on the crew, Nick.

Meet the Koelker Excavating crew for 2026!
These are the faces behind every project, every machine, and every job site we’ve been a part of this year. Proud to say this group has been a big part of what makes Koelker what it is today.
Here’s to this great group of guys 💪🏻

Today marks 25 years since the world changed. The Koelker crew takes a moment to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the first responders who showed the world what courage looks like when it matters most.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Employee Spotlight: Adam Langreck 💪🏻
Over 13 years with Koelker and Adam is still one of the most valuable people on the job site. As a foreman, he brings a level of experience and knowledge that you simply can’t replace, whether he’s behind the controls of an excavator or overseeing the crew on a residential or commercial project. Adam has been a part of Koelker’s growth from the ground up, and the leadership he brings to every site sets the tone for how the work gets done.
Hard to put a price on 13 years of that, Adam.

Every finished site starts as a pile of dirt that somebody had to move.
Thanks to the crews who move it. Happy Labor Day from Koelker Excavating.
Back out in Stuart, IA with the crew.
Topsoil stripping is in full swing on the TravelCenters of America project. The MTS 3630 tractor with an MTS 23-28 scraper is cutting and pulling topsoil, then dumping it where needed, while the CAT D6T dozer works behind it pushing and spreading the material into the low spots across the site. It’s the kind of groundwork that has to happen before anything else can move forward.
Every pass gets the site one step closer to ready.

Employee Spotlight: Noah Henze 💪🏻
Six years in and Noah is still one of the first ones ready to work and the last one to complain. As one of Koelker’s primary dump truck drivers, he keeps material moving on every project, but don’t let the title fool you. When Noah isn’t behind the wheel, he’s wherever the job needs him, no questions asked. That “take it on the chin” mentality is something you can’t teach, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed over the years.
Six years well spent, Noah.

New project. New town. Same crew. 💪🏻
We’ve officially made our way to Stuart, IA to kick off a brand-new TravelCenters of America gas station project. The first few days on site are always some of the most satisfying: clearing out what was, to make room for what’s next. Mass grading is underway and the old parking lot and building are being crushed down and cleared out to make way for what’s coming.
Stay tuned, Stuart. This one’s going to be a good one.

Employee Spotlight: Connor Clark 💪🏻
When our equipment needs to be somewhere, Connor is the one making it happen. As Koelker’s truck driver, he’s putting in miles all across eastern Iowa hauling lowboys and side dumps, doing the kind of work that keeps every other part of the operation moving. With thousands of miles of experience under his belt, Connor brings a level of calm and confidence on the road that the whole crew has come to rely on. That’s exactly what you want from someone trusted with that responsibility.
Wouldn’t want anyone else in that seat, Connor.
