Creativity rarely exists in a vacuum. Sometimes you have to travel almost to the edge of the world with fellow artists to refill your creative cup.

Our classroom duo, Iris and Candy, just returned from the MAEA Fall Conference brimming with fresh inspiration and renewed energy for the studio. We can't wait to see how these ideas come to life in our upcoming workshops!

This collection is a testament to their work past, present, and future.

Nate Rudy, former Gray, Hallowell municipal manager, dies at 51 09/21/2026

Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Nate Rudy, who served as Executive Director of Waterville Creates from 2014–2016.
Nate oversaw the organization’s daily operations and helped lead us through our early years as a fledgling nonprofit, advancing our work as a coordinating entity for the arts and shaping the model for collaborative practice within the community.
We remain deeply grateful for Nate’s contributions to shaping the mission-driven work that continues to this day.
