our carnivorous section got a refresh recently ✨ we know these plants are very unique compared to more traditional leafy houseplants, but did you consider their benefit to your other plants (and home) as a reason for having one?
they can attract common (flying) houseplant and household pests and act like a natural deterrent! 🌱a win win - a cool plant with benefits!!💚

Nighttime temperatures are getting into the low 50s this weekend! That means it's time to start thinking about bringing your porch-dwelling houseplants inside for the season. 🪴
But beware of those unwanted pests that are trying to hitch a ride inside! Here's how to handle them:
🐞Spray everything BEFORE bringing plants inside. Topical treatments like insecticidal soap, neem, or oil-based sprays kill pests on contact. Be sure to spray undersides of leaves and crevices where leaf meets stem; these are great hiding spots for pests!
🐞Sprinkle with systemic. Systemic granules watered into the soil will be soaked up by your plant and kill anything that tries to eat it. Systemic treatments protect your plant for up to 8 weeks.
🐞Have fungus gnats? Sticky traps will catch adults while watering with Mosquito Bits kills any eggs in the soil.
🐞Quarantine. Keep plants from outside in a separate area from your indoor-only plants for 2 weeks while monitoring for pests and retreating topically if necessary.
🐞Avoid repotting plants when you bring them inside, as this can further shock the plant. Let it acclimate to being indoors again.
Come chat with our staff to find the right treatment for you if you're dealing with ongoing pest issues!
