Wellesley Free Library Foundation

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! 📚

A library card opens the door to books, digital resources, programs, events, and so much more.

And behind many of the programs, resources, and special enhancements that make the Wellesley Free Library such a vibrant community resource is the support of The Wellesley Free Library Foundation.

From technology education and ESOL programs to outreach, children’s programming, enhanced collections, and improvements to our branches, Foundation funding helps make our Library even better.

If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s never been a better time to join!

From Our Gala to the Big Screen 🎬
We’re excited to share that our 2026 Gala speaker, producer Evan Hayes, will be in Boston this Sunday, August 23, for a special screening of Learning to Fly, followed by a Q&A with the film’s subject, Aisha McAdams.

If you joined us for our Gala in April, you may remember Evan sharing his perspective on storytelling, creativity, and the power of bringing important stories to life. We’re thrilled to see that work continue on the big screen!

The Library Foundation Gala plays a critical role in raising the private funding needed for our Library to provide the extraordinary, free resources our community relies on. Corporate Sponsors, like Needham Bank, are instrumental to our fundraising success, helping ensure that all dollars raised on Gala night go directly to our Library grant making.

📚 Funds support vital programming for the Wellesley community, including K–12 school outreach, technology classes for all ages, subscriptions to e-books and digital services, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes. Our sponsors’ support of The Library Foundation enables the WFL to serve patrons in innovative and evolving ways.
