We know its been a while but we have some long awaited and exciting news to share... DPW is breaking ground on the new team rooms at the Hunnewell Track and Field starting this Spring. Thank you to all our supporters and we hope to see and cheer with you soon! Cheers.

Construction Begins on Hunnewell Track & Field Team Rooms • Wellesley, MA This project was approved and funded by 2025 Special Town Meeting in November and is the final phase of work on the athletic complex used by Wellesley High School and Middle Schools sports teams and local sports organizations. 

Congrats to the Wellesley High School Class of 2025!!!

WHS 2025 Graduation is this Friday! Congrats to all grads, families, and friends/fans.

Beyond athletic use, one of the greatest inspirations and benefits to the Phase II Field Fund Project was bringing improved facilities which include access to concessions AND bathrooms.

Over the years we had many families share stories of elderly and others mobility challenged folks choosing not to attend these once-in-a-lifetime events and ceremonies at WHS Track & Field but thanks to a committed community of caring individuals those days are OVER. Thanks to ALL!!

So we cheer for you AND welcome everyone to celebrate a historic day- together in comfort and connection.

(Spring) Breaking News:: Buildings (bathrooms and concession) have arrived at Hunnewell Field and the Wellesley DPW is making it happen! Thanks for all the community support and patience.

We hope to see folks at the snack shack under the lights at an upcoming Spring/Fall game or among family and friends at graduation with improved facilities for everyone's comfort to gather and celebrate together. Cheers!

Spring is in the air and so is Boys and Girls Lacrosse!

The first "Night Game" in WHS lax history will be under the permanent lights on Tuesday April 1 @ 6pm. No joke!

JV plays at 4pm and sunset is around 7pm. Come out and support our student athletes.

Last, but not least, the modular bathrooms and concession stand should be delivered, installed, and hooked the week of April 21 (Spring Break). Thanks to Wellesley DPW and the various town departments for coordinating this work as well as the tremendous site support of Ernest Guigli & Sons, Inc.

What an amazing Fall 2024 season! Congrats to Football and Girls Field Hockey for making it to the State Semi-Finals and Girls Soccer who won a state championship!

If you enjoyed and support the Field Fund improvements and would like to give thanks or any other feedback for the future, please do so at an upcoming Community Forum on Town Athletic Fields on December 9th from 7:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. on Zoom or email folks at the bottom of this post.

The forum will include a debrief on the use of the Hunnewell Track & Field complex and the debut of night games under the lights with the new sound system, and the use of other fields and parks across Wellesley.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share thoughts on what went well, and offer suggestions on areas that can be improved for next season.

Representatives from several Town boards and departments will attend and share updates, including: members of the Natural Resources Commission (NRC), School Committee, Wellesley Public Schools staff, Department of Public Works staff, and Wellesley Police and Fire Department officials.

The meeting will be live streamed by Wellesley Media on TV channels Comcast 8/Verizon 40. Individuals who want to speak should sign up using the Zoom registration link.

December 9 Community Forum on Town Athletic Fields Share feedback on the use of the Town athletic fields during the 2024 season. Take part in a Zoom community forum on December 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Last night we received reports of evening activity at the WHS Track & Field. Since many of the Fall sports have concluded for the season and there are no more Fall night games we weren't sure what to make of it.

Well, if you didn't know it, now you do- the Wellesley Football team is headed to the Division 2 State-Semi Finals on Friday night in Weston @ 6pm vs. Catholic Memorial.

And the Wellesley Girls Soccer team (for the first time in over 20 years) is competing in the Division 1 Championship game on Saturday at Worcester State @ 3pm vs. Bishop Feehan.

The two teams were sharing the WHS field under the lights preparing for their upcoming playoff games and we couldn't be happier for them and grateful for everyone's support to provide the facilities for these student-athletes to properly practice for success in the post-season.

Just a reminder (Please share)... this week is homecoming at Wellesley High School with lots of action under the lights starting off with a 2-0 victory by girls field hockey this evening vs. Brookline. Girls Soccer will take on Brookline Thursday night @ 6pm and comes to Wellesley this week @ 6pm with Raider Football taking on Newton North. Plenty of action on and off the field with new traditions and great performances by Wellesley Raider Cheer and the best Pep Band in the land. Don't miss it!
