SRC ensures quality of life for seniors through a constellation of services, information, advocacy, a
Last Wednesday morning in our Adult Day program came with fresh omelets and an impromptu cooking lesson. ๐ณ
When I admitted that my omelets never seem to turn out right at home, Chef John had a tip: practice the flipping motion with a piece of toast. No wasted eggs required!
Chef John is a classically trained chef, and even while preparing breakfast for our Adult Day participants, he took a few minutes to share his skills and have a little fun.
Itโs a simple moment, but it says a lot about what makes our program special.
For family caregivers, knowing your loved one is spending the day somewhere theyโre known, cared for, and enjoying fresh, chef-prepared meals can bring something incredibly valuable: **peace of mind.**
And quality care is more accessible than you might think. With flexible pay options, families can access engaging, high-quality daytime care at a fraction of the cost of assisted living.
Come discover the difference for yourself. ๐

๐ Thank you, Jefferson County.
Last night's 26th Legislative "Indoor" BBQ brought together 150+ neighbors, candidates, elected officials, and advocates around a shared purpose: making sure older adults, family caregivers, and other community members have a voice in the decisions that affect them.
We're grateful to the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners, guest speaker Adam Burg, and executive directors Chandra Matthews, Pam Brier, Paolo Diaz, Rob DeHerrera, and Sarah M. Alquist for joining the panel discussion and engaging directly and candidly with the issues facing our community.
A special shoutout to the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder's Office for being on hand to help neighbors register to vote and answer questions.
And to everyone who attended, asked questions, and continues to show why this event matters year after year โ thank you for showing up.

Summer is slipping by, but there's still time to do something lasting.
Becoming a sustaining partner takes just a few minutes, and your monthly gift keeps care coming to older adults all year long. It's gentle on your budget, and setting it up now means your support is already in place well before the year-end rush.

What does staying home really look like?
For one woman we care for, daily tasks and keeping up her house had become too much, and she feared leaving the home she has loved for years. Because of our sustaining partners, she didn't have to.
Her SRC care provider is there for the everyday things and for the harder moments too, someone who understands and listens. She gets to stay in her own home, living independently.
Last year, support like this helped 1,073 older adults stay safely in their own homes. Become a sustaining partner and keep that door open: https://bit.ly/4wSafJJ ๐

Home is where we all want to be, and that does not change as we age.
This summer, you can help an older adult in our community stay safely in the home they love. Becoming a sustaining partner means a small monthly gift that is gentle on your budget, set up now and handled long before the year-end rush. A little each month keeps care coming all year long.

Today marks a new chapter at Seniors Resource Center. Our first under the leadership of President & CEO Chandra Matthews. And as Chandra reminds us, the next chapter starts with people. ๐ฟ
Ask Chandra how she found this work, and she'll tell you it started at home.
"I grew up surrounded by both sets of grandparents and even some great-grandparents," she shares. "They helped shape who I am. They taught me what is needed to age with dignity, and they taught me what it means to be a caregiver." Those lessons shaped her career and drew her to SRC, which she says has felt like the place she was meant to be since the moment she arrived.
What Chandra has come to understand about SRC is that its strength lives in its people. When you invest in a team and give them the support and culture to do their best, that investment is felt directly by the people they serve. A caregiver finally getting a few hours to breathe, or an older adult finding community and purpose through our programs.
"This is the work," Chandra says, "and it continues because of people like you who believe it matters."
Welcome, Chandra. We're so glad you're leading the way. ๐

Seven years ago, Chris Lynn Chris Lynn walked into Seniors Resource Center and got to work.
Today, we say thank you. ๐
Yesterday we gathered with friends, partners, and supporters to celebrate Chris's seven years as President & CEO, and to honor a legacy built on one simple conviction: people are our why.
When Chris joined SRC in 2019, the organization had real work ahead. He leaves it stronger, steadier, and ready to grow. Under his leadership, SRC now serves more than 11,000 older adults every year through nearly 67,000 hours of care: adult day programs, in-home care, caregiver support, care management, and more. But the numbers only tell part of the story. What Chris really built was a culture, one rooted in equity, respect, and the belief that the quality of care we deliver is only as strong as the people delivering it.
As our Board Chair Jessica Dunbar put it, "Chris has been a transformational leader for SRC. He inherited an organization that needed significant work, and he leaves us stronger, more stable, and ready to grow."
In his farewell to staff, Chris reminded us that in a world too often defined by division, there are people who live each day in peace, helpfulness, and support, and that the care we give can change a life we may never even know about. That's the spirit he leaves behind.
Thank you, Chris, for seven years of heart, humor, hard work, and leadership. The foundation you built is exactly why SRC's future is so bright.
And because we couldn't let you go without one last classic Chris dad joke:
When is a retiree's bedtime?
Three hours after he falls asleep on the couch. ๐
Enjoy it, Chris. You've earned every minute. ๐ฅ
