Vaccinate!!!
What can you do on to help control the spread? Rabies is 100% preventable! You can help prevent rabies infections by vaccinating your animals and keeping them away from wildlife that can spread the disease. Your local veterinary plays a key role in controlling rabies. You can find more information at avma.org/Rabies.

This is why we vaccinate for Rabies!!
Nearly 300 people exposed to goats with rabies at mobile petting zoo | CNN Local health departments in North Carolina have evaluated hundreds of people for rabies after they interacted with baby goats that were part of a mobile petting zoo, according to the state Department of Health and Human Services.
Why vaccinate your horse for Rabies??
Dr. Baird's good friend and co-hort partner, Dr. Matt Evans of Austin Equine wrote a book. It is a pretty good one too. Lots of laughs and certainly worth a read! Chomping at the Bit, How I became a horse vet (against all common sense). It should be a must read for all veterinary students and really anyone wondering if they are doing it all right!
Breakover.... what the heck is breakover?

🍂 FALL VACCINE SEASON IS LITERALLY DAYS AWAY! 🍂
Fall vaccine season is a BIG undertaking for Mobile Veterinary Services, and we want to give our clients a little insight into what goes on behind the scenes to make it successful.
MVS has roughly 1,000 active clients in good standing, which translates to more than 2,000 active patients that we will see during a single vaccine season — typically over the course of just 5–7 weeks!
That is a HUGE undertaking.
Our staff spends months preparing schedules, and it takes the manpower of approximately 3–5 people to put these schedules together. Many years ago, we began offering dedicated vaccine days, or “barn days,” to make this process more efficient, save fuel, and ultimately save our clients money.
These dedicated days are the foundation of a successful vaccine season.
For several weeks now, our staff has been calling, texting and emailing clients, beginning with our higher-up and mountain clients, in an effort to schedule them on days when one of our doctors will already be working in their area.
Why do we do this?
Grouping appointments by area saves our doctors valuable time on the road and allows us to offer our clients a discounted call charge. It is a win for everyone!
📅 A few important things to know about dedicated vaccine/barn days:
• These days typically have a flexible window of several hours, because stops may include vaccines, dentals and other routine services.
• Our staff will reach out by phone, text and/or email to schedule your appointment.
• If we have contacted you and have not received a response within 48 business hours, we will remove you from the dedicated-day schedule. At that point, you will need to call the office to schedule an individual appointment, which will be subject to our full call charge.
• Dedicated vaccine/barn days are designed for routine and preventative care, including general wellness checks, vaccines, dentals, hygiene, Coggins and health certificates.
• These days are NOT intended for lameness workups or examinations that require additional time, diagnostics or a more extensive workup. Those appointments need to be scheduled separately so that our doctors can give them the time and attention they require.
We know vaccine season can sometimes feel a little hectic, but please know that there is a tremendous amount of planning happening behind the scenes to make these weeks run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
We appreciate your patience, your quick responses to our staff, and your help in making vaccine season a success! ❤️
🍁 Fall is coming and MVS is getting ready!
Hello, MVS Clients! 🐴
We wanted to share a quick reminder about a change we made earlier this spring that may have caused some confusion with payments.
Mobile Veterinary Services changed credit card processing platforms in early spring, and as part of that change, all credit cards previously saved on file were deleted.
Some of you may have used a card since then and requested through the new payment platform that it be saved. However, as we all know… technology is technology! Sometimes, if the right box isn’t checked or the right button isn’t clicked at the right time, the card doesn’t actually save. 🤦♀️
So, if you receive an invoice from our office with a payment link, please know that there is a reason for it. It may mean:
• We do not have a card on file for you.
• We have more than one card on file and aren’t sure which one you would like us to use.
• The card on file was declined for any number of reasons.
• The doctor had limited cell service, and although they attempted to process the payment, the transaction didn’t go through.
We do our very best to make billing and payment as easy and efficient as possible for our clients and our staff. But at the end of the day, it is the client’s responsibility to make sure their invoice has been paid.
So, please help us help you! ❤️
If you receive an invoice or payment link from MVS, take a moment to make sure your invoice has actually been paid. If you’re unsure whether we have a card on file for you, please give our office a call and we’ll be happy to help.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the occasional quirks of technology!

*** correction*** Colorado State Fair is requiring a FIVE day health certificate***
Show season is in full swing, and the Colorado State Fair is just around the corner! With an increase in requests for health certificates this time of year, we want to remind our clients that health certificate requirements are changing at many venues.
If you are traveling to a show or competition, **please** check with your venue well in advance to confirm their requirements. Some venues are now requiring health certificates issued within 7 days.....or even 3 days of arrival.
📣 **COLORADO STATE FAIR REQUIREMENT:**
The Colorado State Fair currently requires a **health certificate dated no more than 7 days prior to arrival** for all livestock entering the fairgrounds.
These updated requirements are likely related to recent cases of Vesicular Stomatitis (VS) in Colorado. Please plan ahead and make sure you know what documentation is required before you load up and head to your event.
For more information about Vesicular Stomatitis and current disease updates, visit the Equine Disease Communication Center:
