💕 Look at Vito now....and foster him!
When Vito was found wandering the streets of Brooklyn, he was skeletal and desperately eating garbage just to survive. We were terrified of what the days ahead would bring for him.
But now? He’s eating, gaining strength and feeling GOOD. And don’t let that skinny frame fool you. Vito is a big, strong boy who is getting stronger every day.
He’s also dog friendly and needs a foster home where he can continue putting on weight, getting stronger and learning what it feels like to be someone’s baby.
Lastly, can we talk about how handsome he looks sporting his Sassy Woof gear? 😍

🚨 UPDATE ON MAXIMUS 🚨
The other day, we asked for your help to save a cat who was brought into the shelter with catastrophic injuries to his face.
With your support, we rushed Maximus out of the shelter and directly to a critical care hospital.
Now, we are beginning to understand just how much is going on beneath the injuries we can see.
Maximus began vomiting yesterday and continued overnight. X-rays taken this morning revealed that he is severely constipated/obstipated, meaning his colon is packed and he is unable to properly pass stool.
Today, Maximus will be sedated so his medical team can clear his colon and, at the same time, take a much closer look at the devastating damage to his nose. His nasal openings are severely compromised, and doctors will determine whether they can safely open them further to help him breathe more comfortably.
But there is another concern we need answers to.
What initially appeared to be a catastrophic facial injury has become a far more complicated medical case, a suspected rodent ulcer.
There are still so many unknowns, but one thing has not changed: we are going to do everything we can for Maximus.
Please continue to support Maximus. He needs us now more than ever.

❤️ UPDATE ON WINSTON, WESLEY & WILLOW
What a difference a few days can make.
After being found soaked, filthy and trapped beneath severely matted coats during this weekends Nor'easter, all three have finally been shaved and freed from the painful mats they had been living in.
They already look and feel SO much better. 🥹❤️
For the first time in who knows how long, their skin can breathe. They can move without heavy, urine and feces-soaked mats pulling at their bodies. They are clean, warm and comfortable.
Unfortunately, underneath all that matted fur, our medical team discovered dermatitis caused by the severity of the matting. They will be starting antibiotics to help their skin heal.
It’s heartbreaking to think about how long they may have lived this way, but those days are behind them now.
No more soaked box.
No more painful mats.
No more being left to suffer.
Winston, Wesley and Willow are safe, surrounded by people who care about them, and finally getting the care they should have had all along.
Just look at these three now. ❤️

💕 Look at what love, care and a second chance can do! Lila Grace was found abandoned and emaciated and at just 3 years old, she had been left to fend for herself when she needed someone most. But that is not where her story ended. With proper care, good food and a whole lot of love, she has transformed.
She’s ready for the part of her journey that matters most: finding a family of her own.
Lila Grace is:
3 years old
People friendly
Dog friendly
She’s already shown us just how much love can change a life. Now, she deserves a home where she’ll never have to wonder if she’s loved again 💕

🐾 MEATLOAF UPDATE
If you recall, Meatloaf was sitting in a county shelter in heartbreaking condition a little over a week ago.
His skin was red, raw and inflamed, with extensive hair loss. But even more concerning, this senior boy was struggling to breathe.
It was 9 o’clock at night. The shelter was closing. He needed emergency care, and we knew we couldn’t leave him behind.
Our amazing community rallied, and Meatloaf went straight from the shelter to the hospital.
Today, we finally get to say: Meatloaf is improving ❤️
He’s eating better, and thankfully, his upper respiratory infection has slowly begun to improve.
Unfortunately his skin still has a long way to go, so he’s receiving medicated baths twice a week along with a medicated mousse twice a day.
We haven’t seen a dramatic improvement in his skin yet, but Meatloaf feels better - and that means everything.
A week ago he was struggling to breathe in a shelter. Today, he is safe and getting the care he deserves thanks to all of you.
Please continue to donate to his ongoing care and share his story of survival ❤️

🚨 911 MAXIMUS NEEDS OUT OF THE SHELTER TONIGHT. 🚨
Maximus was brought into the county shelter as a stray with horrific injuries to his face, reportedly from being hit by a car.
We don’t know exactly what happened to him. We don’t yet know the full extent of the damage.
But we know he cannot stay there.
Despite the trauma, despite the pain, Maximus is incredibly sweet and gentle. Looking at his face, it is difficult to imagine what he has endured and the pain he is in.
The truth is, this is a critical situation. His face is severely injured, and he needs immediate veterinary care. He will likely require extensive diagnostics, antibiotics, pain management and potentially major reconstructive surgery.
We need to get Maximus out of the shelter TONIGHT and directly to the hospital.
But taking him means taking responsibility for everything that comes next and cases like this can quickly cost thousands of dollars.
At a time when donations have dropped dramatically and our rescue is struggling more than ever, we cannot do this without our community.
Maximus does not deserve to spend another night in a shelter kennel.
Please help us get him to safety.
