CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS, CHANGE LIVES! 👟

Freedom Preparatory is launching THE BIG SHOE DRIVE on Monday, October 5, and we’re inviting our community to help us collect as many shoes as we can!

We’re collecting gently worn, used, and new shoes in all adult and kids’ sizes. Shoes should be clean, dry, in complete pairs, and still wearable.

Your donated shoes make an impact in two ways...
1. The more shoes we collect, the more funds we raise for Freedom Preparatory.
2. Collected shoes also become inventory for micro-entrepreneurs around the world, who resell them in their communities to earn income and provide for their families.

So start checking those closets! Gather the shoes your family has outgrown or no longer wears, ask your friends, neighbors, family, and coworkers to join in, and bring them to either Freedom Preparatory location beginning October 5.

We’ll be collecting shoes through December 4, so keep them coming throughout the fall!

Every pair counts! 👟

Science was a smashing good time at Freedom Preparatory last week!

Mrs. Stevens challenged her middle school students to use only found materials to build something that could protect an egg when dropped from a high ladder. They got creative with their designs, then headed outside to put them to the test.

This morning, our students, parents, teachers, staff, and local pastors gathered at both our Elementary and Secondary schools for See You at the Pole. Together, we prayed for our schools, our nation and gave thanks to Jesus.

We’re honored to stand alongside students at public and private schools around the world who took time this morning to pray and worship. Faith is part of how we learn and grow at Freedom Preparatory, and mornings like this give our students a chance to live it out together.

We thank God for the freedom we have in Christ to worship Him wherever we are!

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17

This is what our Explore Class (1st and 2nd grade) families see each week. Their teacher shares what students are learning, and this one page says a lot about what we value at Freedom Prep.

Reading, writing, math, social studies, and art all have a place. But Biblical truth isn't separated from the rest of their education. The foundational truth of Scripture is taught with intentionality and care.

We may be a small school, but our teachers are committed to providing a well-rounded education and keeping families connected to what’s happening in the classroom.

We love seeing that kind of care poured into our students each week. đź’™

Science you can see in action! Our elementary students have been learning about heat and solar energy, and our teachers gave them a chance to put that learning to work.

Students built their own solar ovens, took them outside into the Kansas sunshine, and tested them by making s’mores. 🍫

We love seeing our teachers create opportunities for students to make real-world connections with what they’re learning in the classroom.

There is power in prayer. 🙌 Some of the most powerful moments at Freedom Prep happen when our students take the lead, praying for one another, encouraging one another, and pointing each other back to Jesus.

As part of their House activities at the beginning of the school year, our Upper School students reset this prayer wall for a new year of prayer and connection. Each day, students from across grade levels come together in their Houses for Bible study, prayer, and community building, with students helping lead these times under the guidance of their teachers.

This prayer wall was created and painted by students as a place for their classmates to share prayer requests and pray for one another. Beside it, a student-painted mural of Jesus walking on the waves is a beautiful reminder of where we place our hope.

We are so thankful to see our students making prayer and worship part of the everyday life of our school.

What a great first day back! đź’™ Our classrooms were full again today with students learning, reconnecting with friends, meeting new teachers, and settling into a brand new school year.

We’re praying for the Lord’s hand to be upon each one of our students, teachers, and families as we begin this amazing school year. We can’t wait to see all He has in store for Freedom Prep in 2026–2027!

Every student deserves to know they are capable.

Today we're getting to know Lindsey Angleton, our Secondary Intervention Teacher! Lindsey has a heart for helping students work through challenges, build confidence, and recognize their potential.

Why do you choose to work in education?
I chose to work in education because I believe every child deserves to be seen, encouraged, and given the opportunity to succeed. Watching students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and realize their potential is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I want to make a lasting difference by helping students not only grow academically but also know they are valued and capable.

What is your favorite thing about Freedom Preparatory?
My favorite thing about Freedom Preparatory is its commitment to both academic excellence and character development. I appreciate being part of a school community that values faith, relationships, and helping students grow into leaders who impact the world around them.

What Scripture helps you most in your life as an educator?
Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

This verse reminds me that when teaching feels challenging, I don’t have to rely on my own strength. God provides the patience, wisdom, and endurance I need to serve my students each day.

What is one fun fact about you?
I love to travel, and my kids all have E names!

A familiar face is taking on a new role at Freedom Prep this year! As our Meet the Team series continues, we're excited to introduce Holly Goff. After spending the past few years in our Elementary building, Holly is moving to Secondary this year to teach Middle School.

Why do you choose to work in education?
I chose to work in education because of the teachers who made a lasting impact on my learning experience. I stayed because seeing students begin to love learning and realize they are capable of so much is uplifting.

What is your favorite thing about Freedom Preparatory?
If I had to pick just one thing, I would say it’s the environment. We care for everyone who inhabits FP.

What Scripture helps you most in your life as an educator?
Matthew 5:16 is my favorite verse. Every time I read it, I’m reminded that I have the opportunity to be a light and that my students are called to shine brightly too.

What is one fun fact about you?
I have been to Honduras multiple times for mission work. Home away from home!

Meet the Team: Bailey Stevens! In celebration of the start of a new school year, we're continuing our Meet the Team series! Today, meet Bailey Stevens, one of our amazing Middle School teachers.

Why do you choose to work in education?
I chose education because I’m the child of an educator and wanted to make that same positive impact in students’ lives that I watched my mother make!

What is your favorite thing about Freedom Prep?
I love Freedom Prep because of the people! Our staff and students are some of the best people in town, and getting to work alongside them is such a privilege.

What Scripture encourages you as an educator?
My favorite verse is 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

What is one fun fact about you?
My husband, my youngest son, and I all have a birthday in the same week of October. We call it Birthday Week!
