TO WITNESS TO RULERS (Acts 25: 1-27)

Paul is moving according to God’s plan and program to bear His name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel. Each time Paul is able to share with these men and women about what the Lord Jesus had done for him, he tells it with a great deal of conviction and enthusiasm. Paul witnesses to them about the gospel message of life.

This is true not only of Paul’s witnessing efforts, but ours as well. Jesus described His followers as fishers of men. We begin to see our role in witnessing as not to be the finder, or the catcher, for that is the role of the Holy Spirit. Our role is to witness where the Holy Spirit leads us. It is the Holy Spirit who is the finder of a heart that is ready. He guides us to those hearts, and He empowers us with the Words of Life.

Our role is to plant the seed of the gospel message. To present the Word of God to a heart that has been prepared by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the catcher. He convicts them. He redeems them. In most cases, we plant the seed, but we do not necessarily get to see the ground watered, and watch their desire grow until the Holy Spirit reaps the harvest. But we do get to enjoy the experience of being in God’s will, doing God’s work.

THE PROBLEM WITH PROCRASTINATION (Acts 24:17-27)

Do you have trouble with procrastination? All of us have difficulty with procrastination. And, in some things it is a bad habit, but in some other things it is a tragic habit, because procrastination is the thief of time, it is the grave of opportunity, and without a doubt it is the road to hell.

There are four categories of people who will hear me teach today and choose to refuse Jesus Christ and be lost.

First of all, there will be those who do not understand, or who do not believe, the gospel. And, because they do not understand it, or they don’t believe it, they will refuse Jesus Christ, and they will die and go to hell not believing.

Another category is the out-and-out sinner. They may believe the gospel, but they are wed to their sin. And they say to God, “You are not big enough to make me change my ways. I choose my sin over You.” Without question, that person is going to die and go to hell.

Another category is the self-righteous person. They are not an out-and-out sinner. They think they are too good to be damned. And many people in America are egomaniacs who are strutting to hell, thinking that the gospel is for the thief, the murderer, the pervert, the adulterer, but not for them. They are good people, decent people, so they think. And these people are going to be lost and go to hell.

But a great majority of the people who will hear the lesson today, and refuse the Lord Jesus are procrastinators. People who understand that they need to be saved, but simply think, I will not be saved today, I will wait. For that person “There will only be more sin tomorrow to repent of, less time to repent in, and tomorrow sin will have a stronger hold, and your heart will be harder.”

Click on the link below to hear a message on the only righteousness that you can ever have, it is the righteousness that Jesus Christ supplies for you. Don’t put off for another moment making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.
