Run Wichita

Suzie started running in 2016 with Fleet Feet’s No Boundaries 5K training and has since worked her way from 5Ks to 10Ks, half marathons and full marathons. Her favorite distance is the half marathon, and you’ll often find her on the Redbud Trail or joining a group run when motivation is hard to find. One of her proudest running moments came at the 2019 FlatRock 50K, where she finished the course three minutes past the cutoff—no buckle, but no quitting either! Her current goal is to run a half marathon in every state, and she loves the community and giving-back spirit of Run Wichita.

Thank you Run Wichita and Fartleks Running Shop for continuously showing up for the running community. Every year they host Run it Forward to give shoes to all students around the city who are getting into running. They supported West back when we only had 4 runners, and every year they get to see the West High Cross Country program grow.

Thank you to all that came, spread the word, donated shoes, and came to help. Thank you, as always, Fartleks Running Shop. Good luck to all the runners on your cross country season! We will be cheering you on!

Another Run It Forward Aug 16 & 21 on Friday!

Wichita runners step up to provide free shoes for student-athletes Run Wichita has been putting on “Run It Forward” shoe giveaways since 2023. The group partners with the running store Fartleks to collect gently used running shoes.
