WSU Tech - Criminal Justice Program

Not the best video but couldn’t be more proud of these two. WSU Tech walks away with two silver medals in Criminal Justice. One for high school (Riley Schoen) and one for college/post secondary (Ryan Golden).

Competitions have started for the high school division. Riley will be placed in six different scenarios where she will be judged by local law enforcement officers on how she does. Wish her luck today!!!

Wish these two luck today , they are heading into testing at SkillsUSA National Competition. They will start the scenario based competitions Wednesday and Thursday morning.

It was a great day for the students in the criminal justice program at WSU Tech. Students from the college along with several students from our high school partners at South, Eisenhower, and Goddard all competed at the Skills USA Kansas State Championship in Hutchinson, bringing home some hardware in the process. I couldn’t be more proud of these students and the dedication they have shown preparing for this competition. Several of these students have even been spending extra time at the college outside their regular set classroom time practicing for this event. I would like to thank our instructors at South, Eisenhower, and Goddard for all their hard work in helping these students get ready for the events. I would also like to thank the Wichita Police Department for all their hard work in setting up the competition.

Currently looking for placement for three students in my internship course. Our program at WSU Tech is growing rapidly and with that growth we have had an increase in the number of students looking for criminal justice internships. I have been able to place nine students but still have the three looking for placement. If you are part of my network or even outside my network in the Wichita area and would be willing to give one of these students an opportunity to see what you department or organization has to offer don’t hesitate to contact me.
