Onyx goes to war with his cardboard house on the daily. Perhaps he is embodying a tornado since he lives in kansas. Alas hes a rabbit and cannot speak so we will never know.

He is getting along well in his weight gain. It is beyond saddening his previous owners were just not feeding him but we are glad to know it seems none of his weight loss was from underlying conditions.

Please do not buy rabbits for people who cannot take care of them, because they will not take care of them.

He is gaining weight and becoming quite the companion. We are very proud of him and while it is very sad his previous owner just wasnt feeding him we are glad that there have been no underlying conditions that caused the severe malnourishment.

Petal is getting spayed soon and she will be up for adoption!

She is a Red Eyed White rabbit, known as a REW. Often people are scared of rabbits with red eyes but it is nothing beyond an eye colour. Theyre not bad omens just like black cats are just cats.

She is a sweetie who wants a home that will allow her to get used to them over time. She likes space to run and is enjoying Mauzuri and Science Select pellets but definitely not oxbow, she found oxbow quite offensive.

Waiting for the right person for a rabbit can take a long time and sometimes it's quick, we are happy to say this happened quick! I thought Cinn was going to be in our care for a while, but wouldn't you know it we found someone basically the day we brought him in and we put him on hold until his lovely owners were ready to welcome him in!

Now he is living the absolute life, We are so happy. Thank you Emily (His foster) and thank you Emily (His adopter). Hilariously enough they are actually different people.

What does a proper rabbit set up entail?

Mostly it entails knowing your rabbits and their behaviors. Ill break down my personal rabbit set up for you and why it differs from what I suggest other people have.

The larger area is Jack, the left pen is Linda, and the right pen is Fray.

Linda isn't allowed much because she absolutely insists on having a foreign body made out of soft fabrics. She gets a single blanket and soft rug flooring that is stretched taught to where she cannot get at the edges to pull it up. She gets a TON of wooden things to chew on because it is so obvious she craves it. She probably has 5 or 6 different types of chews at all times. She is spaced from the wall to avoid grabbing the edges of her floor mat as well. She does not enjoy hides and likes to be viewed.

Fray has and will always have litterbox struggles. I find the longer furred rabbits can often have reluctance to use their litterboxes reliably, why? Not really sure may have something to do with their fur farm set ups being wire bottom as they're not regular bred to be pets. When her litterbox habits get bad I reduce her space to a smaller area then open it back up after a few days sometimes a little longer. She can have as many blankets as she desires, and then the standard chews and other set up items.

Why does Jack get the bigger area? Because shes absolutely terrified of being alive. Small spaces send her into full panic mode and I find giving her the remainder of the room helps her anxiety levels a lot. She has more hides, more soft spaces, and comfort items. She likes to chew but not near what her sister Linda does.

Why cant they all bond? Unfortunately I wound up with 3 dominant females. 2 have drawn blood on one another and the other just doesnt like them. We gave up on the bonding and thats okay, I'd love for them to snuggle one another but its simply not in the cards for them.

I would tell every other person to not allow nose to nose through cage bars in this situation, as rabbits love to bite each others noses through bars. And I didn't allow it for a long time. During the prebonding process they were housed in the same room with that restriction. And over time they would lay against the pens near one another so I took that away to see if they wanted to bond. And then they'd lay against one another.

All in all, they love being able to goom each other's heads and lay with each other but ONLY if theres a pen separating them. I dont pretend to understand it. But I've had these guys about 3 years and this is what works well for them and makes them happy. So we will stick with it.

All of this to say that you will learn your rabbit and their needs. As long as they have a minimum of 4x4 space, a water dish not bottle, good food, good hay, and someone that loves them and protects them. You will tailor your care to your rabbit, and thats what we want you to do.

We are getting low on funds, Petal needs her spay and exam which will be about 290$

We also have one rabbit in our wait list that we can intake if we get that funding raised as well. He/she was a meat rabbit that a person adopted to avoid him/her becoming food but did not necessarily want a rabbit. His/her care will likely be 250$-300$ if he/she doesn't have any medical issues.

Yesterday took an unexpected turn. We did intake for an owner surrender who we expected to be fine but unfortunately was not.

We had to reorganize fosters so he would be closer and also in a medical foster situation. He is basically skin stretched over bone. Picking him up was shocking because his fur hides the reality.

We are going to need more funds than expected for him as I expect some kind of testing in his future.
