I competed at Miss America!!! 🥹

I’ve often struggled to articulate just how much this “sport” has impacted me. There is no version of my life & my story without the support of those who have helped me get here: My parents, my mentors, my friends, my coaches. Mock interviews, walking sessions, platform work, networking, & the list truly goes on. So many people have poured themselves into me not for any other reason than to see me succeed & be happy. & what they’ve done is created a chain reaction. Because so many believed in me, inspired me, and lifted me up, I am now equipped to continue doing the same with every single person I meet. Together, these moments of empowerment lead to real and recognizable change. It makes me excited for not just the journey ahead, but the world in which these children will inherit. A world filled with powerful female leaders, representation of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and backgrounds. When we all become the change we wish to see in the world, the world truly does become a more magical place.

Congratulations to the new Miss America Regan Hutsell !!!! There is no one more deserving ❤️❤️ You embody everything it means to be Miss America, inside and out!!! I am so excited to see you shine throughout your reign!!!

I am so blessed to have found something that has given me lifelong friendships, family, memories, and life skills!

I can’t believe my time competing at Miss America is coming to a close. As we go into finals night, I’m feeling so many emotions. I started competing in pageants at the age of 6. I was a shy little girl who loved to perform & wear pretty dresses, but little did I know just how much that would evolve over time. Now, as a 23 year old, I stand here in awe of the experiences that led to this moment.
My Gigi always talked about growing up & watching the Miss America competition on TV as a little girl, my mother had the same experience in her childhood, and, of course, I too have vivid memories of doing the same exact thing. I don’t think it has fully sunk in that I was blessed with the opportunity to live out the same generational dream I once thought was a long shot, but here we are. While the journey wasn’t easy, I couldn’t be more grateful for the life lessons I have learned along the way. What better way to find out who you are & what you are passionate about in this world than by competing in a system that uplifts, empowers, and spotlights young women & all that they bring to the table.
So while to some this is just another pageant, to me, I see so much more than that. I see a celebration of women of all kinds, amplified on a stage for the whole world to see. I will cherish every moment that led up to this one no matter the outcome tonight. This week has truly changed me for the better in so many ways & learning to trust in myself & who I am is one of the greatest gifts I could ever ask for. 👑🤍
