Shocker Career Accelerator

From applied learning at Wichita State to a career at Textron Aviation ✈️

Elyssa Kreutzer, a senior studying marketing communications, built experience through Wichita State’s Technology Industry Engagement Group and NIAR before joining Textron Aviation. Her work and connections there led to a communications co-op for the 2026–27 academic year and a full-time communications associate position scheduled to begin after graduation.

“I’m grateful for the support and guidance from my peers and coworkers that helped lead to those opportunities,” Elyssa said.

Through her applied learning experiences, Wichita State graduate Briana Rodriguez used her Spanish-language skills to help families access important services and resources in the Wichita community.

With support from the Applied Learning Fund, Briana served as a Spanish interpreter at Kansas Children’s Service League and Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. Now a student at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry, she plans to use those skills to better serve Spanish-speaking patients in her future dental practice.
