Wichita Pride

We had a researcher reach out asking for help with getting participation for a survey! Link is in the bio and the parameters of the study are below!

Participation: The study involves two components. First, we will ask you and your partner to complete a one-time online survey from home. This survey will take about 1 hour to complete. Second, we will ask you to complete a brief daily check-in online each morning over 60 days; each check-in should take no more than 10 minutes.  

Eligibility: You and your partner must be in a committed intimate relationship and both of you must be willing to participate. Both of you must identify as LGBTQ+ and be at least 18 years of age. It is also important that you feel comfortable speaking and reading English, and you will need internet access to complete the study procedures. There are some other eligibility requirements which we will determine in a brief survey (link provided below) followed by a brief (~15 minutes) meeting on zoom. For example, we are looking for couples with at least one partner who is a regular drinker, and this will be determined when you fill out the survey. 

Compensation: Each of you will receive $20 for the initial online survey. You will receive $5 for each daily survey you complete—up to $300 total—for the series of 60 daily check-ins.  Therefore, each of you can earn up to $320 in total compensation (up to $640 as a couple).

This year’s tournament will be October 24th starting at 10am! Play will continue until one team is declared the champions with prizes for our top two teams!!

Planning for Wichita Pride 2027 has started and you can help!!

We’ve started our next planning season and one of the first things we need to decide is the theme! The theme for the year will be featured on the art that will be on the Pride Buttons and all of our upcoming social media graphics as well as help determine design and mood for the upcoming events!

To submit your ideas for a theme all you have to do is comment on this post, message us on social media, or email us as [email protected]! Then our social media girlie will gather all the ideas and get them submitted to the board to vote on their favorites!

The perfect theme is marketable and memorable! Something that speaks to the community and captures the spirit of Pride! We can’t wait to hear your ideas!!

The U.S. Association of Prides joins with the global Pride community in condemning the attack on Berlin’s Christopher Street Day Pride celebrations, and holding all of those affected in our hearts ─ most especially the person killed and those injured in this senseless act of violence.

Pride is a place for joy and hope, and violence against LGBTQIA+ people that disrupts that joy and extinguishes that hope is never acceptable.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."The Pride movement in the United States and around the world exists to drive out darkness with light and hate with love.

Every Pride celebration is a beacon of hope where LGBTQIA+ people are welcomed, celebrated, and affirmed. Every day, we answer fear with hope and hatred with love. We will not allow violence to extinguish our light.
