Evergreen Ridge by LGI Homes at 1463 Ducett Heights in Colorado Springs has one of our favorite monument styles for its new signage – post and beam! The CMU block column with stone face houses a custom fabricated plaque of two layers of flat cut out aluminum with paint finishes. A rough-cut cedar support beam runs across the top of the sign, with steel bracket wraps stabilize the sign from the beam. Steel i-beams attach to stone pedestal base on the opposite side of the column. The Evergreen Ridge sign itself is comprised of a ¼” brushed aluminum panel with routed out text with stud mounted face and letter centers. The standalone tapered column is of the same CMU block with stone face, and with the same fabrication of the tree plaque, along with a ½” cast aluminum plaque with raised text. Timeless design and rustic charm!

Happy weekend! Posted recently from Colorado Parks and Wildlife: Ever heard an elk bark? It’s sometimes high pitched and loud, and usually means the elk sees, smells, or hears danger ahead! It can sound raspy, or squeaky. We just thought you might want to brush up on your Elk-ish.

Signage Trends for 2026
At DaVinci, we pay attention to signage trends to be able to better serve our customers. For 2026 and into 2027, we see these three elements coming into focus:
Trend 1: The One Stop Sign Shop
It is increasingly important to our customers for us to provide not only fabrication and installation but also design and permitting services. The one-stop-shop is a fundamental feature in how we ‘roll’ here. Business owners are busy, and they need to have their projects stay on track. Having all these skillsets under one roof lets us conceive of, design, permit, fabricate, and install, for a happy customer result (no headache needed).
Trend 2: Materials Choices for Low Maintenance and Energy Savings
Weathering steel such as the Corten® product, naturally develops a patina that looks both rustic and modern, depending on the design. They require almost no repainting or extra maintenance, even in hard weather conditions. Corten® signs are seen in park entrances, city welcome and gateway signage, university entrance signs, and large identification monuments. LED lighting has been a game changer for its energy efficiency, flexibility of use, and ease of maintenance. In fact, there are limitless ways to light channel letters with LED lighting, and LEDs can even be combined with neon to stretch your dollar while still having retro neon authenticity. Faux neon LED is another way to use new technology but still enjoy the neon feel. Shown in the photos is a recent Corten® monument for Colorado School of Mines, and an LED/neon combination blade sign for Stuft Burger Bar in Fort Collins.
Trend 3: People Still Matter
One thing defies all trends, and that is people, both customers, and our own company family. How we take care of our employees matters to us just as much as how we serve our customers. Our ‘why’ is an authentic mixture of community dedication and the desire to better our lives and our children’s lives too. Between dedicating ourselves to causes such as Realities For Children, tree plantings for beautification in Cheyenne, or simply rehanging a veteran’s flag, we mean it when we say, people are always going to be our ‘first string.’
