Great day in Kent, Washington, working with an outstanding vegetation management team. I’ve worked with this crew before, and I’m proud of the progress they continue to make. Most importantly, safety remains the top priority.

Whether working with a 30-foot tree or one over 100 feet tall which is common here. understanding what the hinge can support, determining how much lift is needed, and having a clear plan before the first wood chip flies can make all the difference.

These trees may not give you a second chance. Plan the work, understand the tree, and respect the hazards.

Great job today, team, height markers hit, targets were nailed and calculations on the money.

Incredible day with River Falls, Wisconsin Community Education! The rain held off, and the group was ready to learn, build confidence, and sharpen their skills. From participants with a little experience to those with years under their belts, everyone left with new skills.

The biggest takeaways from the day were twofold: take the time to evaluate your tree, and always put safety first! 🌲🪚

We are proud to work with Green Space Dallas and for an amazing two days of training in Irving, Texas!

We had great weather on the first day, and a little rain on the second—but that didn’t stop us from making the most of it. Rain or shine, safety and learning remain the priority.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make these two days a success. We appreciate the opportunity to work together and continue building safer, more knowledgeable crews in the field.

Safety first. Train hard. Go home safe.

Great job to the awesome Waukesha County Highway and Parks Department team during today’s storm damage training!
Storm cleanup can create some of the most dangerous conditions crews face. Downed trees, hanging limbs, damaged power lines, unstable ground, and unexpected tension in trees can turn a routine job into a life-threatening situation, be safe out there.

Channel 9 abc Dubuque, Iowa,

Conservation crews train to clear storm damage
Forest Safety Instruction LLC spent time with a group of area conservation experts training them to use chainsaws to cut down dead trees at Swiss Valley on Monday.

One trainee, Jones County Conservation Director Brad Mormann, said the group’s action helps the flattened prairie grow back stronger.

“By removing them, we’ll help the environment. It’ll create more sunlight on the ground, so that’ll create more vegetation on the ground to hold the soil back when the water comes out of the banks,” Mormann said.

He said the training helps the leaders learn how to clear trees in their own communities after storms.

“It’s fun,” said Mormann. “In the conservation world, it’s almost a daily activity that our staff are using [chainsaws], especially with the recent storms we’ve had. Tree limbs and trees are down, and we have to take care of that.”
