What’s your reason for following me?

Expectations of gender and sexuality have evolved over time and are influenced by cultural context.

People who do not conform to those expectations are often scrutinized by their contemporaries and, often, pathologized by historians.

While some literary spinsters, like Louisa May Alcott, have been reconsidered by historians as sapphic, other q***r identities may have been overlooked as well.

Today, Emily Brontë's birthday, I am building upon my "How We Tell Your Story" series to analyze how asexuality may be overlooked or misunderstood in the archives.

Encourages self-expression, authenticity, and transformation - as Darren Tashine radiates for me and so many other sparkly gender adventurers.
Promotes creative economy by paying artists and normalizing skill-sharing - like Thrust Fest made possible through classes and three nights of shows with international kings (and featured through my partner and I's shirts made by independent artists).
Is a creative outlet for storytellers, visual artists, and theater kids at heart - as I embodied in the sewing and lip-sync challenge of Worcester Drag Gauntlet.
Values growth by creating space for new performers to find the spotlight - like Harley's Funhouse where I made my debut and Lady LaRouge became my burlesque mom.

Spotlights diversity of identity, perspective, interests, and skills - which was highlighted and continues to blossom at the Worcester Draglesque Festival.

Over the past year, I've been privileged to sponsor local drag shows like Tippendudes, Worcester Drag Gauntlet, Boston Drag Gauntlet, and Worcester Draglesque Festival, especially those that amplify the importance of intersectional diversity like BIPOC Pride shows produced by Rocco Rose & Kiera Knox and drag story time with Love Your Labels.

Coordinating Pride celebrations is more than event planning - it's a responsibility to community.

Q***r people have existed in every era, in every culture, including among people who were enslaved in America. However, there are scarce accounts and recognition of q***r people who were enslaved.

As Juneteenth falls within Pride Month, today I am uplifting two stories of q***r people who were enslaved, living under enormously dehumanizing, racist, misogynistic, and homo/transphobic systems that attempted to erase them.

As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, I'm celebrating Dr. Margaret "Mom" Chung - the first American-born Chinese woman to become a doctor.

However, she is most well known for the thousand of adopted "sons," soldiers she supported in the Sino-Japanese War and World War II.
