Getting items from the HC Libraries has never been faster!

HC Libraries patrons can now have item(s) from the Science and Music Library pulled from the stacks for you. Choose any of the HC Libraries branches to pick your item(s) up from . You'll be notified when the item is ready.

This service is still available for items located at the Worcester Art Museum Library and the Icon Museum Library. It is not available for items located in Dinand Library, so continue to use document delivery/interlibrary loan for that location.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Digital Archives and Distinctive Collections.

This site brings together documents, photographs, and other materials from the collections for discovery and research. Currently, materials on Digital ADC include correspondence of Patrick Healy, SJ, photographs of Commencement, pencil drawings of Dinand Library, photographs of Fitton Field and selections from the Fatherless Children of France collection. Please note, we are continually adding to and updating our digital materials.

Our staff picks display is up in the Dinand Library Lobby! There's a lot of variety, come by and see what titles speak to you 💜 Even if a book you're interested in is checked out, take note of the title on the display card so you can read it later!

The celebration of the 250th anniversary of America continues with an an exhibit of rare books pertaining to the American Revolution, on view in Archives and Distinctive Collections. The display includes imprints from 1776, early histories of the War of Independence, an “American archives” commissioned by Congress and more.

LibFest was last week! It was an amazing opportunity for us to engage with the HC community and share information about on and off campus resources💜 And a special thank you to our DJ, Sabrina Sullivan '27, from WCHC 88.1FM 🎶

We have new books about sustainable living and sustainability, and you're invited to the collection's opening reception! Join us tomorrow at 2 pm in the Science Library to view the books, check one out, and enjoy some refreshments from local farms! Thank you to the Green Fund for awarding us a grant to purchase these new books 💚

On this day in …

Holy Cross students gave a command performance as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of American independence. Students first performed an outdoor production of Hecuba, the tragic play by Euripides, on May 30, 1926. It was given in the original Greek and held on Fitton Field. The high quality production, with its elaborate sets, garnered widespread attention, including numerous articles in the New York Times and an invitation to perform at the Sesquicentennial Exposition in Philadelphia September 15-16 of that year. Sadly, many of the large sets were later destroyed by a fire in Fenwick Hall.

Photographs, documents, and more will be on display in the Reading Room.
