Creativity and kindness filled the art studio this week as The Pillars, our peer health and wellness leaders, hosted Worcester Academy’s sixth annual Zoe’s Rocks event in memory of Zoe Woolfus.

Students painted rocks with colorful designs and encouraging messages, continuing an activity Zoe embraced to spread joy throughout her community. The rocks will now be placed around campus, each offering simple but powerful reminders: You matter. Be happy. You can. You will.

Thank you to The Pillars and everyone who helped carry Zoe’s spirit of kindness forward.

The Class of 2030 is already making connections!

Last week, our 9th grade students gathered on the Rader Quad to share where they came from and one hope for their high school experience. As they passed yarn across the circle, they created a web connecting the entire class and showing how their individual stories are now woven into the Worcester Academy community.

A warm welcome to our newest international Hilltoppers!

This year, Worcester Academy welcomed more than 30 new international students representing 11 countries. To celebrate, the Global Student Union hosted an International Student Welcome Fair on the Quad, bringing Middle and Upper School students together for karaoke, ramen, calligraphy, henna, jewelry, raffles, and more.

It was a fun afternoon of sharing traditions, making connections, and getting to know the newest members of our community.

Following its premiere at the Woods Hole Film Festival this summer, Little Audrey has been selected as the Closing Night film of the Boston Film Festival!

Written by Worcester Academy alumna Caitlin McCarthy ’88, who also served as an associate producer, the film will screen on Monday, September 21, at 7:15 p.m. at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport.

On the first day of school, the entire student body gathered for Convocation, one of our favorite opening-day traditions. We welcomed our new sixth graders and celebrated our “Lifers,” members of the senior class who have been on the Hilltop since sixth grade.

Students heard from our Division Heads, Head Monitors, and Head of School Kevin Breen, who encouraged everyone to “contribute a verse” to the story of Worcester Academy this year. The Academy Singers also performed the Alma Mater.

It was a great way to come together and begin another year on the Hilltop!

The Class of 2027 began the first day of school with one of Worcester Academy’s favorite traditions: Senior Breakfast.

Before heading to class, seniors and PGs gathered in the Megaron to reconnect, celebrate the start of their final year, and enjoy one of their first moments together as a class.
