You know what they say: All publicity is good publicity. That also applies to 1-star reviews.
Back in 2020, the New Bedford Whaling Museum received a Google review calling it the âworst aquarium ever."
There was just one small problem. It's not an aquarium. It's a historical museum dedicated to New England's whaling history.
Instead of ignoring the review, they embraced it by putting it on a T-shirt. The "Worst Aquarium Everâ design featured the one-star rating alongside a whale skeleton, turning a misunderstanding into an inside joke. As a result, the merchandise went viral, becoming one of the museum's most popular designs (some currently on backorder!).
A negative review became a best-selling product, and one seriously creative marketing win.
The lesson is simple. Brands can't control every review, comment, or misunderstanding, but they can control how they respond.
The âworst aquarium ever" might have just created one of the best local museum marketing campaigns we've seen.

The FIFA World Cup just ended... LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!
For 5 weeks, the FIFA World Cup hit major cities across the US, Canada and Mexico. 48 national teams came together, and fans traveled across borders to support their home countries. Including plenty of those who barely followed soccer became emotionally invested overnight.
The effect? One of the biggest marketing stages in sports history.
FIFA organized brands across different sponsorship tiers, with each level receiving its own rights, visibility, and access to the tournament.
The rules protecting those partnerships were serious. Gillette Stadium temporarily became Boston Stadium, with existing branding covered to protect FIFAâs official sponsors. Imagine paying to put your name on an entire stadium and then being told to hide it because another event came to town!
Unusual, but also a great marketing opportunity. Gillette turned restrictions into creative content.
Sports bring fans, cultures, traditions, and national pride together around a shared experience. People donât just watch the World Cup. They wear it, travel for it, talk about it, celebrate it, and remember how it made them feel. That emotional connection is what creates the real opportunity for brands.
Lastly, congratulations to Spain for winning The FIFA World Cup 2026!

This is wicked good community marketing.
Market Basket teamed up with local artist .paints to create its Fourth of July America 250 flyer, and honestly, it has more New England charm than an iced coffee in February.
Working with a local artist gives the flyer personality, texture, and a genuine connection to the community. It reminds people that behind the shelves, weekly deals, and Market Basket runs, there is still room for creativity and something made by an actual person.
Major props to Market Basket and .paints for making an advertisement that feels local, memorable, and authentically New England. No generic AI artwork needed.
More of this, please.
