Okay… I’ve been waiting to announce this one!

This December, I’m heading to Mexico to join Tulum Innovation Fest for Whale Tank 2026, and I’ll be there as both a lead mentor AND host of the Grand Final.

Whale Tank is selecting just 30 tech startups from around the world for a 5-day, 4-night immersion designed to help them go from building something with potential to being seriously READY for investment.

Founders will work directly with mentors like Alex Santana (Alex Santana), Abraham (Abe) Ramos (Abraham Ramos Palomeque), Paulina Delagar (Paulina Delagar), Andrés Najéra, and investors on their deck, strategy, fundraising, pitch, and storytelling.

And that last part is where I come in:

I’ll be working directly with the founders on pitching, presence, and communicating their vision with the confidence and clarity these kinds of high-stakes conversations require.

And then things get interesting.

Only 5 startups will be selected to pitch at the finale on the Main Stage, and I’ll be there HOSTING it.

So yes… I might coach you on your pitch and then be standing onstage when you actually have to DELIVER IT.

I didn’t know it at the time, but one email changed the course of my life.

In 2019, I got an unexpected email from Andy Bruckschloegl.
He was preparing for a huge presentation for Bits & Pretzels in Munich and was looking for someone with a strange mix of skills: actor, English teacher, communication nerd.

Andy brought me on to help prepare his opening ceremony speech; and then his co-founders Bernd Storm vans Gravesande and Felix Haas joined too.

And as if I wasn’t surprised enough, that year they had an even bigger task:
Introducing their keynote speaker...

Barack Obama!

I was coaching the three of them virtually from my tiny apartment in NYC.
It. Was. Crazy!

After the conference, they looked me in the (virtual) eye and said:
“You should start your own coaching business.”
And so... I did.

That’s the moment I started a new life and stepped into this business.
That one email turned into a business that has taken me over the world.

I had the honor of working with Bits & Pretzels for several years, helping pitch competition finalists, warming up the audience, coaching incredible founders on stage presence and storytelling, and working with the 10x Founders community.

It’s been one of the most amazing parts of this crazy adventure.
So every year when Bits & Pretzels comes around, I get pretty nostalgic! 🥨 🍻

And I LOVE that this year’s theme is Human After All.
Because after seven years of doing this work, I believe that more than ever.
The best communication isn’t perfect. It’s HUMAN.

This work lives in me always.

And to anyone preparing to take the stage, remember: your message matters.
Your body, your breath, and your bravery are your greatest tools.

Why does the number 7 seem to hold so much significance? The 7th edition of Volcano Summit. 7 years of my business. And at then end of this year...

7 years of living, working, and traveling around the world with no home. 🤪

Something about all those 7s lining up made me reflect on just how much can grow from one idea, one opportunity, or one connection.

This year’s theme at Volcano was Echoes of Expansion.
And I saw the ripple effect happening all around me.

I saw it in the founders stepping into the Startup Avenue experience after weeks of preparation to share their ideas with the world.

I saw it in the incredible young musicians from Banda Fe y Alegría. Music and art and community have given them new opportunities and created an echo on opening day.

But maybe the echo that stayed with me most happened when everything was over.
A 24-year-old guy from Honduras stopped me and told me this was his very first Volcano Summit. He said the experience had changed the way he thought about success. Instead of seeing everyone around him as competition and to compare himself to, what changed in him was that he started seeing an ecosystem of people who support each other.

THAT is an echo.
One experience changes something in one person.
They take it home, into their work, their relationships, their community, and we have no idea how far that impact will travel.

Thank you to the entire Volcano team and community for trusting me to Host the Main Stage for the third year. The echos are strong within me. The impact continues to change my life.

And the magic of Guatemala is one of the biggest superpowers in the world.

Seven years. So many connections. And SO much still to build.
